From June 7th through 8th, during the 2025 Pokemon Trainers Cup tournament in South Korea, codes for a Mystery Gift will be given out that trainers can use to obtain a Porygon2. The Porygon2 distributed to trainers of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will resemble the one used by Juyoung Hong, the 2024 Pokemon Trainers Cup Champion.

Back in my days with Pokemon Gold and Silver, I first encountered this digital beast known as Porygon2. This virtual critter evolved from Porygon after a trade while clutching an Up-Grade item. Fast forward through two generations, and Porygon2 got another evolution in the form of Porygon-Z, again with the same trading trick while holding onto an item. Known for its striking blue and pink color scheme, this Pokemon boasts quite a move set, including Trick Room, Thunder Wave, and Ice Beam among others. In my latest adventures with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, I’ve noticed Porygon2 popping up in Five-Star and Six-Star Tera Raid dens across the Terarium. But

Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet who aspire to expand their collections with Porygon2 will have an upcoming chance to do so easily. According to ComicBook, a Mystery Gift code for Porygon2 will be distributed by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet during the 2025 Pokemon Trainers Cup in South Korea on June 7 and 8. This unique Porygon2 is based on one used by the 2024 Pokemon Trainers Cup Champion, Juyoung Hong. This special Porygon2 will carry an Eviolite and have the moves Trick Room, Ice Beam, Tera Blast, and Recover. As a result, Hong’s Porygon2 can be immediately used in competitive battles. At this time, the code for Porygon2 remains undisclosed, so trainers of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet must wait until the finals of the Trainers Cup to receive it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Porygon2 Mystery Gift Details

After the code becomes available, players can unlock the Mystery Gift feature by going online and choosing Poke Portal from the primary menu. No Nintendo Switch Online subscription is necessary to obtain Mystery Gifts. In two weeks, attendees of the 2025 Pokemon Japan Championships in Yokohama who are playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have an opportunity to acquire a unique Amoonguss for their collection. However, it’s expected that this special Amoonguss will also be distributed as a Mystery Gift at a later date, even though it will initially only be available during the championship event.

For now, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have until July 31st to grab a Rillaboom using the code “R1LLAB00M2024TW” from the Mystery Gift menu. As for the upcoming Porygon2 distribution event, we’ll just have to wait and see how long trainers will be able to join in on the fun.
