About Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2
A Great Supernatural Anime
At Kamome Academy, a school brimming with prestige and whispered tales of the extraordinary, I find myself drawn into an enchanting world of seven legendary mysteries known as the “Seven Wonders.” By a twist of fate, I, Yashiro Nene, am thrust into a partnership with one such mystery, a spectral being called “Hanako-kun,” rumored to reside within the haunted stall of the girls’ bathroom. Together, we embark on an exhilarating journey to unravel the hidden supernatural secrets that lie beneath the pristine surface of Kamome Academy.
In January 2020, the initial season of “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” was broadcast for 12 episodes, marking a strong beginning for the anime adaptation of the series. It stood out with stunning visuals, and its supernatural tale, while initially appearing light-hearted due to its art style and ambiance, could actually delve into much darker territories.
In December 2022, I learned that the anime series “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” was set to resume its journey. This resumption started with the adaptation of the spin-off series titled “After School Hanako-kun“, which aired from October to December 2023, and was followed by a four-episode sequel in October 2024. The next step in this resurgence was the second season of “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun”, which concluded just yesterday.
In the first season, Masaomi Andō from studio Lerche handled the directing duties. However, starting from episode 10 of the first season, Yōhei Fukui took over as director for the second season. Fukui was accompanied by several staff members from the first season, including scriptwriter Yasuhiro Nakanishi and character designer Mayuka Itō.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
