Get Ready: TT Games is Cooking Up a New LEGO Adventure!

Summary

  • TT Games reportedly has a new LEGO game in the works, which is said to be nearing completion.
  • The unannounced title will allegedly be released by 2026.
  • TT Games’ output slowed down considerably in the post-pandemic era due to a variety of factors, ranging from wider industry trends to senior talent jumping ship.

A fresh LEGO game is being secretly developed at TT Games, and it’s expected to launch in 2026, as reported by a reliable industry source. This will mark the studio’s first new game release – either a LEGO title or another – in quite some time.

Starting from 2005, TT Games has been responsible for publishing a total of 37 LEGO games. Their most recent release, met with critical acclaim, is the highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which debuted on PC and consoles in early April 2022.

Based on a report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, it seems that TT Games is preparing to add another LEGO game to their collection soon. During the Kinda Funny Gamescast, Schreier hinted at a new LEGO title in development at TT Games. He mentioned that it could potentially be released next year, although he also admitted that it might be scheduled for 2025, and finally concluded that, as of his current knowledge, a 2026 release window is more probable.

Previously, Schreier had hinted at TT Games’ next LEGO undertaking on February 7, within a broader article discussing various problems at WB Games. This piece also suggested the potential reboot of Monolith Productions’ Wonder Woman game, which was later canceled following its developer’s closure. In his recent Kinda Funny Gamescast appearance, Schreier provided the first specific details about the expected release timeframe for this unannounced project.

Why Has TT Games’ Output Slowed Down?

From its start in 2005, TT Games has typically put out over one and a half games each year. However, production has significantly decreased since 2019, with only a single game being released in the subsequent five and a half years. This decline can be attributed to several factors, some affecting the industry as a whole and others specific to TT Games. For instance, post-pandemic, game development cycles have become longer due to various reasons, making TT Games’ reduced output consistent with broader industry trends.

A challenging factor for TT Games has been the departure of key personnel in 2021, among them the founder Jon Burton and design head Arthur Parsons. They left to establish 10:10 Games, which recently launched its first game called Funko Fusion in 2024. As per LinkedIn data analyzed by Game Rant, 24 other TT Games employees followed Burton and Parsons to 10:10 Games. This represented roughly 6% of the company’s workforce at the time; however, the impact was substantial as it involved senior talent departing, which can disrupt any studio’s operations substantially.
