The forthcoming exclusive game for PlayStation 5 titled “Ghost of Yotei” is set to offer a campaign lasting approximately 25 hours, much like the one in 2020’s “Ghost of Tsushima”. Players can hardly wait to dive into this new large-scale RPG from Sucker Punch. “Ghost of Yotei” promises to incorporate beloved aspects from their past historical game and introduce plenty of fresh elements to keep things engaging.
The game titled Ghost of Tsushima received overwhelmingly positive feedback upon its release, earning numerous Game of the Year nominations and sparking plans for a movie adaptation and an anime series. At the end of 2024, during a State of Play broadcast, a sequel named Ghost of Yotei was announced, causing much excitement. Since then, developer Sucker Punch has been gradually revealing details about this upcoming action-adventure title. The story follows Atsu, a ronin on a quest for vengeance against those who murdered her family and destroyed her village. Although Ghost of Yotei is still several months away from launch, it has already attracted high acclaim, with former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida declaring it “even better” than Ghost of Tsushima.
In a recent conversation with VGC, the creative director of “Ghost of Yotei”, Jason Connell, shared that the main storyline of the game is expected to last around 25 hours, comparable in length to “Ghost of Tsushima”. Connell mentioned that “Ghost of Yotei” has been designed with a similar scale and scope as its predecessor, implying that players can expect to spend approximately 60 hours to fully experience the game’s offerings. The new environment of Hokkaido in “Ghost of Yotei” promises various distinctive landscapes, ranging from snow-covered mountains to dense forests and bustling cities teeming with peril at every corner.
Ghost of Yotei’s Campaign Is Around 25 Hours Long, Similar to Ghost of Tsushima
In contrast to the eagerly awaited “Ghost of Tsushima,” the new title, “Ghost of Yotei,” offers several distinct changes in its combat system. Rather than relying on a stance system, the main character, Atsu, will be proficient in handling five different weapons, each serving a unique function. Furthermore, players can easily launch enemies skyward using their spear, and during battles, opponents can be disarmed, although this maneuver may require skillful execution amidst the chaos of combat.
Enthusiastic gamers can grab two special edition PS5 console bundles of Ghost of Yotei, coming in both PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Pro versions. The design is inspired by the game, extending to a revamped DualSense controller. For those who’ve already got a PS5, there will be two Ghost of Yotei console skins available in black and gold. These bundles are set to debut on October 2, the day the game releases; pre-orders aren’t available just yet.
