As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent exploring the richly detailed worlds of The Elder Scrolls franchise, I’m thrilled to share my excitement about the latest addition to Oblivion’s modding community: Citadel of Madness. With a background that includes countless adventures across Tamriel, I can’t help but be intrigued by this 25-hour mini-campaign.

As a long-time fan of The Elder Scrolls series, I can’t help but be excited about the “Citadel of Madness” mini-campaign for Oblivion. This intriguing mod, created by Lariatius, has been around since 2013, but unfortunately for English-speaking gamers like myself, an official translation only recently became available, thanks to PCGamer.

I’ve had the privilege of translating over 3,000 lines of dialogue from Russian to English for a fascinating mod called “Citadel of Madness.” With my background in language and a deep love for The Elder Scrolls series, this project felt like a dream come true.

The “Citadel of Madness” expansion introduces a floating city above the lands of the Shivering Isles, enriching the mythology of Sheogorath’s domain. As per the mod’s description, it includes a large fortress, a city, and two villages. With over 180 new interior designs and an extensive main questline, the length of which is comparable to those found in Cyrodill’s guilds, this mod offers an immersive experience.

In the tale of Citadel of Madness, King Sheogorath ordered the construction of a floating stronghold to shield his domain from the threats of Jyggalag. Regrettably, this fortress has come under siege. It falls upon the Hero of Kvatch to address this predicament, as is often their responsibility.

As a seasoned adventurer who has faced my fair share of daedra and their minions, I can’t help but feel a shiver run down my spine at the thought of encountering Jyggalag’s Knights of Order. The description assures us that these soldiers are not among the strongest under his command. But let me tell you, even the “weaker” daedric creatures are no walk in the park.

Being an avid gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve come across many games that have left me yearning for more immersive experiences. One game that falls short in this regard is the one where I’m currently playing, which unfortunately has only a few Russian voice lines. I can understand why – localization can be a complex and resource-intensive process.

You can download and install the mod from Nexus with a size of approximately 900MB. The previews on Nexus show some intriguing beings in this mod. Wishing you good fortune on your journey back to the Shivering Isles.
