God of War Composer Told Team Asbobi How Much He Loved Astro Bot

In a conversation with VGC, Bear McCreary, the composer of God of War, shared his feelings about meeting Team Asobi. He told them directly how much he admires their game. This encounter took place when they visited town for The Game Awards. McCreary was delighted by the experience and praised the game’s level.

In Astro Bot, a stage was designed with a God of War theme, yet the music in this level was slightly different and not composed by Bear McCreary, but rather Kenny Young. Although McCreary didn’t collaborate with Young, he acknowledged that Young successfully captured the right vibe, as expressed by McCreary saying, “He nailed it.

McCreary explained, “When I reached the ‘Bot of War’ level and heard those distinctive three notes, it didn’t matter if they were reimagined or remade in a fun, robo-electro-pop fashion. Hearing those three notes was like hearing the voice of God of War for me.

“That makes me so proud, because it really hit me that I made something,” McCreary added.
