As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the ever-increasing file sizes of modern games have become a bit of a challenge for my humble hard drive. With God of War Ragnarok coming to PC later this year, I find myself facing another storage behemoth – 190GB! Now, I’ve played through my fair share of epic adventures, but the thought of clearing out 106GB just to make room for this Norse epic is daunting.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of “God of War Ragnarok” on my PC later this year! This Norse epic promises an immersive gaming experience, and I’ll need to make sure I have enough storage space ready for it. When it initially launched on PlayStation late last year, it received rave reviews from gamers, who appreciated its polished gameplay, stunning graphics, and emotional narrative that followed Kratos and Atreus as they confronted the gods of Asgard to uncover their destinies. The rumors were true – Sony officially announced during a PlayStation State of Play livestream in May that a PC version of “Ragnarok” would be available on September 19. I can’t wait to delve back into this captivating world!

As a longtime fan of the God of War series, I am thrilled to hear that the upcoming God of War Ragnarok will be making its way to PC, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Having played previous installments exclusively on consoles, I was initially skeptical about the prospect of playing this game on a PC. However, given that Jetpack Interactive, the studio behind the successful port of the previous God of War title to PC in 2022, is co-developing the port for Ragnarok, my concerns have been alleviated.

Sony has disclosed the technical prerequisites for the forthcoming PC version of God of War Ragnarok, set to debut on Steam and the Epic Games Store in September. The specifications encompass the required GPU and CPU models, as well as the game’s substantial file size of 190GB. Contrastingly, the PlayStation 5 version of God of War Ragnarok was only 84GB, representing approximately half the size of the upcoming PC edition. The PlayStation 4 version, meanwhile, was slightly larger at 118GB, but it is still significantly smaller than the forthcoming PC version.

God of War Ragnarok PC File Size

  • 190GB

In a comparison, it’s worth noting that the earlier “God of War” game took up around 70GB on PC, significantly larger than its nearly 45GB counterpart on PS4. The larger file size for “God of War Ragnarok” on PC might be due to enhanced graphics, as Santa Monica Studio promises a more immersive experience with clearer visuals and smoother gameplay, thanks to higher resolutions and faster frame rates.

The highly anticipated game, God of War Ragnarok, is already known for its massive size and technical requirements on PlayStation 5. If you’re a PC gamer excited about the upcoming port, be aware that you’ll need around 106GB of free storage space when it launches on September 19. If you pre-order either the standard or digital deluxe versions of God of War Ragnarok on Steam or Epic Game Store, you’ll receive the Kratos Risen Snow Armor and Atreus Risen Snow Tunic cosmetics at a specific point in the game’s narrative.
