To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the initial release of the “God of War” game in March 2025, Santa Monica Studio is treating players of “God of War Ragnarok” with some nostalgic content as a gift. On Thursday, March 20, an update for “God of War Ragnarok” will be released on PS4/PS5 and PC, which will introduce the Dark Odyssey collection. This assortment of in-game items is inspired by earlier “God of War” titles and carries a name that pays homage to the development code name for the original game: Dark Odyssey. It’s essential to mention that this dark and mysterious aesthetic can only be unlocked once the weapons are fully upgraded. Furthermore, an exciting new feature called Edit Appearance is being added, allowing me to customize not just the weapons, but also the attachments and shield ronds to truly make them my own.
Even though some enthusiasts of the game “God of War” are thrilled about the upcoming free content, others are still in suspense regarding a significant rumor. For quite a while now, there have been whispers of a remastered collection for the “God of War” Greek saga. Additionally, it was said that these re-releases would allegedly be unveiled during the 20th anniversary celebration event of the franchise on March 22nd. Regrettably, Santa Monica Studio has stated that they have no new announcements for “God of War” planned for this specific event.
