The story arc in Ragnarok and its Valhalla DLC suggests that Kratos is transitioning towards a more peaceful demeanor and taking on a leadership role, rather than being at the forefront of battle. Given his advanced age by the end of the story, it’s natural to expect that Atreus, who is still growing up, could offer more opportunities for rich and immersive storytelling in future God of War games. While there may not be another “wow” moment quite like playing as Atreus for the first time, Santa Monica Studio could use the gameplay framework established in Ragnarok to create an even more remarkable experience.
