- Knights feature martial arts skills, devil fruit powers, immortality, hyper-regeneration, & direct connections to Imu.
The Divine Protectors of Mary Geoise, also known as the God’s Knights, are responsible for safeguarding the Sacred Land and its rulers, the World Nobles. Their primary duties include monitoring the World Nobles, ensuring their safety, and meting out justice against those who violate the established laws. They hold a position of authority above both the Marines and the World Government, submitting their reports directly to the Five Elders, or in exceptional circumstances, to the enigmatic figure known as the Great Imu herself.
In order to perform their duties effectively, each knight within the divine order, the God’s Knights, holds distinctive powers and skills. While these powers differ amongst individuals, there are certain universal talents they all share. Imagine them as a parallel to the CP9 from the Holy Land. From the storyline so far, I will outline some exclusive powers and abilities of the God’s Knights, ranked according to their effectiveness in battle:
1. The Almighty Swordsmanship – A universal skill among the knights, allowing them to wield swords with incredible precision and power.
2. Divine Healing – Some members can heal themselves or others at an accelerated rate, making them valuable allies on the battlefield.
3. Teleportation – Certain knights possess the ability to teleport short distances, granting them a strategic advantage in combat.
4. Elemental Manipulation – A few knights have the power to control and manipulate elements such as fire, water, earth, or air, harnessing their raw energy for destructive purposes.
5. Shape-shifting – Some members can transform into various creatures or objects, providing them with unique abilities in different situations.
6. Illusion Casting – A few knights are adept at creating illusions to confuse enemies and gain an advantage during battle.
7. Energy Projection – Others can project energy beams from their bodies, capable of causing significant damage to their foes.
8. Time Manipulation – Rare among the knights, a select few have the power to manipulate time, allowing them to rewind or slow down events for strategic purposes.
7. World Nobles Authority
They Stand Above The Law

- Name: Figarland Garling
- First Appearance: Episode 1120
The God’s Knights, despite being responsible for governing both the World Nobles and the Holy Land, are themselves part of the noble class. As a result, they enjoy the same privileges that World Nobles do, including owning slaves and meting out punishment to any commoner who challenges them.
Among the key advantages that God’s Knights frequently utilize during their assignments are being exempt from legal consequences and having the power to call upon the Marines whenever and wherever desired. This exemption allows them to act freely without worrying about consequences, while the latter ensures they can always rely on the Marine force’s full strength.
6. Martial Arts
Swordsmanship & Hand-to-Hand Combat

- Name: Figarland Shamrock
- First Appearance: Episode 887
Similar to CP9, the God’s Knights have all been trained in martial arts; however, there exists a disparity in skill level among its members. For instance, Gunko and Shamrock can be considered true martial artists, while Killingham and Sommers tend to lean towards using their divine powers rather than engaging in direct combat with their opponents.
Apart from this, it’s worth noting that among our martial artists, each individual has unique tastes when it comes to choosing the style of martial art they practice. For instance, Gunko favors hand-to-hand combat, while Shamrock prefers swordplay. Yet, rest assured, all of them possess the ability to effortlessly overpower an ordinary pirate with their skills.
5. Teleportation Magic
Long-Range Teleportation Magic

- Name: Gunko
- First Appearance: Chapter 1134
Each knight belonging to God’s Knights receives unique talents directly from the powerful figure, Imu. Among these abilities is the long-range teleportation magic. As per Gunko and Killingham, this magic enables those who bear Imu’s mark to journey through the Abyss by means of teleportation.
As of now, we don’t know what the true essence of the abyss is, but it seems to be a distinct realm that can only be reached by Imu. To initiate transportation, a knight needs to draw a magical symbol on the ground and connect it with a specific location or individual. This action triggers a corresponding symbol to appear at the designated spot, instantly transporting both parties between the two points.
4. Devil Fruit
The Power To Bend The Law Of Physics

- Name: Rimoshifu Killingham
- First Appearance: Chapter 1140
As a fervent admirer, I find myself drawing parallels between the formidable might of Pirates and Marines traversing the great oceans, and the God’s Knights, whose power primarily stems from Devil Fruits – their very own source of extraordinary prowess. Though some among them have yet to reveal their Devil Fruit abilities, it seems prudent to assume that each member possesses one.
So far, we’ve seen three unique abilities associated with Devil Fruits: Gunko’s Arrow-Arrow Fruit, Sommers’ Thorn-Thorn Fruit, and Killingham’s Dragon-Dragon Fruit. With her Arrow-Arrow Fruit, Gunko can create cloth arrows for direct attacks or to divert enemy assaults. Using the Thorn-Thorn Fruit, Sommers possesses the power to generate and control thorny vines. Lastly, Killingham’s Dragon-Dragon Fruit lets him transform dreams into real objects.
3. Immortality
They Just Can’t Die

- Name: Five Elders
- First Appearance: Episode 151
Frankly speaking, upon their arrival on Elbaf, the God’s Knights didn’t seem as formidable as one might expect. In contrast to behemoths like city-sized dragons or individuals capable of triggering earthquakes with a single strike, a girl wielding vector powers and a man armed with thorns pale in comparison when it comes to intimidation factor as potential adversaries.
Upon discovering that these knights cannot perish, everything took on a new dimension. No matter what assaults we hurled their way, they’d rise again, seemingly unaffected. This peculiar invulnerability makes God’s Knights an exceptionally formidable adversary, and there’s a chilling quality to it too. It’s worth noting that this immortality is another boon bestowed upon them by Imu, their benefactor.
2. Hyper Regeneration
Regrowing Limbs & Instantly Healing Injuries

- Name: Shepherd Sommers
- First Appearance: Chapter 1140
In addition to their already formidable immortality, each divine knight possesses rapid regeneration, a unique trait bestowed by Imu. This allows them to swiftly recover from any wound and even regrow severed limbs. However, it was recently revealed that this ability isn’t invincible.
In a remarkable turn of events, Scopper Gaban, the second-in-command to the Pirate King, successfully severs Sommers’ hand, an act that defies conventional healing as the wounded limb fails to regenerate. The exact means by which Gaban accomplishes this feat remains unclear, yet it serves as a testament to a method capable of circumventing the God’s Knights’ extraordinary regenerative abilities. This revelation offers hope, but it doesn’t alter the current reality that Gaban is the sole individual who possesses this skill at present. Consequently, if the Straw Hats and the giants do not swiftly learn this technique, inflicting harm upon Sommers and other God’s Knights will remain a challenging endeavor for now.
1. Direct Connection To Imu
Channeling The Higher Being

- Name: Imu
- First Appearance: Episode 885
It’s been pointed out multiple times in this list that the abilities of the God’s Knights are traced back to Imu herself. Initially, people assume these powers could be skills learned from Imu, like the Rokushiki techniques mastered by CP9, or gifts bestowed upon them by Imu, such as when Blackbeard transferred the Clear-Clear Fruit’s power to Shiryu of the Rain.
In the latest installments, particularly Chapter 1150, it’s clear that these gifts are not ordinary. It appears that when Imu grants these special powers, she forges an indestructible bond with those who receive them. This implies that the God’s Knights tap into a piece of Imu’s strength each time they utilize these unique abilities. It’s reasonable to infer that they could wield even greater power if Imu chooses to empower them further.
Concerningly, it’s revealed within the same chapter that Imu possesses the ability not only to command but also to hijack the bodies of her knights, inflicting chaos and devastation without having to venture outside her lair. This significantly escalates the hazards and uncertainties when confronting the God’s Knights in combat.
