Developers behind Gran Turismo 7 have just rolled out Update 1.57, introducing three fresh vehicles and several additional game elements to the widely-enjoyed racing title.
Released in 2022, “Gran Turismo 7,” developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony, continues to be a top-tier racing game favorite. Initially receiving positive acclaim upon its debut, the game’s longevity is due to continuous updates from Polyphony Digital, often introducing new cars, thereby keeping the gaming experience engaging for longtime enthusiasts.
As a thrilled enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I’ve just gotten my hands on the latest update for Gran Turismo 7 – version 1.57! This fresh release has introduced three stunning new rides to our garage: the Aston Martin Vintage ’18, the Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition ’21, and the Renault Kangoo 1.4 ’01. You can grab these beauties right from Brand Central, and if you’ve got a soft spot for the Renault Kangoo, it’s also up for grabs in the Used Cars section. On top of these new additions, there’s a brand-new menu now available in Gran Turismo 7’s Extra Menus section, all about Suzuki! Additionally, three new events have been added to World Circuits: “Sunday Cup: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit,” “European Clubman Cup 601: Deep Forest Raceway Reverse,” and “Japanese FF Challenge 450: Tokyo Expressway – Central Counterclockwise.” Let’s hit the road!
Now, the AI racing agent in the game, Gran Turismo Sophy, has advanced to its 2.1 iteration and is now playable for Custom Races on the PS5 edition of Gran Turismo 7. GT Sophy adjusts to a player’s driving style, learning dynamically, making it behave more human-like, and the updated version is claimed to be even more reactive.
In essence, the latest content rollout bears a resemblance to the February 2025 update of Gran Turismo 7. Just like the previous update, it introduces three new vehicles into the game, a handful of World Circuit events, and a fresh base color for the MAZDA 3 Gr.4. Additionally, Grand Turismo Sophy has been enabled for two additional courses in this update.
Currently, Gran Turismo 7 can only be played by owners of PS4 and PS5 systems, with no signs of this changing in the near future. Earlier in the year, whispers suggested that Sony had scrapped plans for a Gran Turismo 7 version for PC. However, the source of this information didn’t provide a clear explanation for why the project was abandoned, leaving us guessing as to Sony’s reasoning behind canceling it at a time when they’ve been releasing numerous first-party games on PC platforms.

New Cars
Aston Martin Vintage ‘18
(Can be purchased from Brand Central)
This lightweight cornering machine has been called the best Aston Martin ever.
Back in 2005, I was thrilled to see Aston Martin’s ‘Vantage’ name, traditionally associated with their high-performance models, transform into a standalone vehicle. Compact and powered by a V8 engine, this beauty quickly became a fan favorite, boasting the best handling among front-engine, rear-wheel drive models in their lineup. Fast forward to 2017, and the next generation Vantage continued to embody the essence of its predecessor, maintaining its core principles.
Despite being on the same platform as the DB11 V8, the Aston Martin Vantage boasts a shorter wheelbase and a weight reduction of 120 kg, transforming it into a nimble cornering powerhouse often praised as the best handling car in Aston Martin’s illustrious history. Its engine is a Mercedes-AMG 4L V8 generating 502 horsepower. This sports car can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, and it has a top speed of 195 miles per hour, making it capable of achieving speeds typically associated with supercars.
Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition ‘21
(Can be purchased from Brand Central)
This crossover SUV from Mazda features a revolutionary new engine design.
In the 2010s, when the popularity of Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) was at its peak worldwide, Mazda entered the market with their CX-3 and CX-5 models. However, these two models had a noticeable size difference. To bridge this gap in their lineup, Mazda introduced the CX-30, a crossover SUV. Despite being relatively compact, measuring 4,395 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,540 mm in height, the CX-30 embodies Mazda’s sleek, aerodynamic “KODO Design” philosophy. The front of the vehicle features a signature wing that extends to the sides, connecting the headlights on both sides, while the body’s side profile gracefully catches and reflects light as it moves.
This car offers three distinct powertrain options: the gasoline direct injection ‘SKYACTIV-G’ with a 2L capacity, the diesel direct injection ‘SKYACTIV-D’ with a 1.8L capacity, or the innovative ‘SKYACTIV-X’, a 2L gasoline direct injection engine featuring a spark-controlled compression ignition (SPCCI) system. The version shown here is the ‘CX-30 X Smart Edition’, launched in 2021 and based on the ‘SKYACTIV-X’ model. One of its key attractions is the abundance of standard driver assistance features, such as the Active Driving Display that projects data onto the windshield, and the Smart Brake Support system, which automatically applies the brakes in emergencies. The debut of this grade also brought enhancements to the ‘SKYACTIV-X’ system itself, with automatic models experiencing a boost in throttle pedal resistance for an improved driving experience.
Renault Kangoo 1.4 ‘01
(Can be purchased from Brand Central / Used Cars)
A popular leisure activity vehicle that started life as a commercial van.
In France, a popular trend has been the ‘fourgonnette’ type vehicles, compact commercial vans, which have produced several top-sellers throughout the years. One such vehicle born from this trend is the Renault Kangoo, first introduced in 1997. While designing the Kangoo, Renault aimed to optimize its functionality as a commercial vehicle while also incorporating features that could potentially make it suitable for personal leisure use. This included sliding doors on the rear passenger compartment and individual adjustable rear seats. This approach proved effective, and the Kangoo paved the way for the ‘ludospace’ segment of leisure activity vehicles. The vehicle’s approximately 4-meter length offered ample cargo space, making it a preferred choice for outdoor activities. The model showcased here is equipped with a 1.4L gasoline engine, offering minimal power but embodying the true essence of French automobiles by utilizing all available power effectively. Additionally, its soft suspension provides an unusually thrilling driving experience.
Café / Extra Menus
The following Menu will be added to the Extra Menus section:
- Extra Menu No. 45: Suzuki (Collector Level 35 and above)
World Circuits (Event)
The following new events have been added to ‘World Circuits’:
- Sunday Cup: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
- European Clubman Cup 600: Deep Forest Raceway Reverse
- Japanese FF Challenge 450: Tokyo Expressway – Central Counterclockwise
Gran Turismo Sophy
The advanced AI racing agent, GT Sophy, has progressed to “GT Sophy Version 2.1” and can be utilized in the ‘Custom Race’ mode (available on PS5).
You can now pick ‘GT Sophy’ as your competitor AI in the Custom Race, across all tracks and layouts that it supports within the World Circuits.
Scapes
‘The Faroe Islands’ has been added as a featured curation in Scapes.
