Green Crystals Rewards (& How to Get Them) in Metroid Prime 4

Green Energy Crystals are essential in Metroid Prime 4. You’ll need to gather a significant number of them to finish the game. As you collect these crystals, you’ll unlock helpful rewards. This guide details both the rewards you can earn with Green Energy Crystals and how to obtain them in Metroid Prime 4.

When playing Metroid Prime 4, it’s really important to thoroughly collect all the Green Energy Crystals whenever you’re exploring Sol Valley.

Green Crystal Rewards in Metroid Prime 4

As players gather Green Energy Crystals during gameplay, a progress bar on the left side of the Mission menu will fill up. This bar starts as green, and once it reaches certain points, players can collect rewards by going to the Altar of Legacy in Fury Green. You can find details on those progress points and rewards below—and one of the highest-tier rewards is actually needed to finish the game.

Unlock % Reward Details
25% Psychic Beam Upgrade Increases speed and damage of Psychic Beam shots.
50% Control Beam Boost Increases speed of Control Beam shots.
75% Green Energy Crystal Finder Green Energy Crystals appear on the radar.
100% Memory Fruit & Legacy Suit Memory Fruit is required for completion of the game. Legacy Suit allows Samus to activate a protective barrier.

Okay, so once you completely fill the green energy meter – it hits 100% – any extra green crystals you find will start filling it up with blue instead! And get this – if you’re a completionist like me and manage to collect every single green crystal in the game, you’ll fill the whole meter with blue and unlock a bunch of cool new images in the gallery. It’s a nice little reward for being thorough!

How to Get Green Energy Crystals in Metoid Prime 4

There are three ways to earn Green Energy Crystals, and they are as follows:

Crystals in Sol Valley

Sol Valley is dotted with bright green crystal structures. Breaking these crystals gives players Green Energy Crystals, and it’s a good idea to do so whenever you pass through – you can destroy them using Missiles or by hitting them with Vi-O-La.

Gibardaum Rocks in Sol Valley

In Sol Valley, players can sometimes discover large, metallic rocks close to green crystal formations. These rocks can be broken open using the Psychic Power Bomb – a special ability unlocked while searching for the fifth Master Teleporter Key – and will yield a significant amount of Green Energy Crystals.

Shrines in Sol Valley

Sol Valley contains six Shrines where players can find upgrades for the elemental shots in Metroid Prime 4. These Shrines hold containers filled with Green Energy Crystals, which players need to destroy using Missiles.

Once you’ve reached 75% green energy, you can get the Green Energy Crystal Finder from the Altar of Legacy, which makes locating the last few crystals in Sol Valley much simpler. If you’re not seeing any crystal signals on your radar, thoroughly check the edges of the desert. Another method, useful for getting 100% completion with blue energy, is to slowly expand outward in circles from Chrono Tower until crystals begin to appear.
