This guide may reveal details about the latest Grounded update, ‘The Toxic Tangle.’ If you want to avoid spoilers, please read with caution!
Earwig Set
| Part | Recipe | Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Earwig Kasa (Head) |
| Earwig Cuirass (Body) |
| Earwig Greaves (Legs) |

You unlock the Earwig Set by scanning Earwig parts – like the Head, Body, or Pincer. It’s a durable Fighter Armor, making it perfect for players who like to take the front lines and absorb damage.
This item features the Hasty Response Set perk. When you perfectly block an attack, there’s a chance it will activate, significantly speeding up your melee charge attacks. It works especially well with the new Katangas.
Potato Beetle Set
| Part | Recipe | Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Potato Beetle Helmet (Head) |
| Potato Beetle Chestplate (Body) |
| Potato Beetle Shin Guards (Legs) |

As a huge fan, I’ve found the Potato Beetle set is amazing for dealing with Tang Build Up! It’s all thanks to its Tangy Purification perk – whenever you block, there’s a chance it’ll actually reduce that annoying corrosion effect. It’s a game-changer, honestly!
This armor offers good protection and has a stylish design. As a Fighter set, it’s ideal for players who want to take the lead in battle and draw enemy attention, letting teammates focus on attacking. You can craft it by finding and researching Potato Beetle Parts.
Rusty Set
| Part | Recipe | Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Rusty Circlet (Head) |
| Rusty Robes (Body) |
| Rusty Boots (Legs) |

The Rusty Mage Armor reduces stamina use when attacking with magic staffs. While it offers significant resistance to damage, it has a lower overall defense. You can learn how to craft it by studying Rust Beetle parts or Sour Glob. It’s particularly effective when paired with newer staffs like the Acid Ruin or Wither Sting.
This set’s special bonuses are called Tangy Eruption and Sourmancy. Tangy Eruption triggers when you perfectly block an attack, sometimes releasing a burst of Tang Goo. Sourmancy then boosts your Sour damage for a short time. Together, these bonuses are very powerful, especially when used with a Mage Staff build.
Serpent Set
| Part | Recipe | Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Serpent Hood (Head) |
| Serpent Mail (Body) |
| Serpent Boots (Legs) |

One of the most exciting additions in Grounded’s The Toxic Tangle Update is the Serpent Set, which you get from the Garter Snake – one of the game’s largest creatures. If you’re adventurous enough to find the snake and ride on its back as it moves through the upper Garden Biome, you can collect Scales using a level 4 Pickaxe on your Omnitool.
Examining the Scales will reveal the crafting recipe for Mage Armor. This armor has a special ability called Finale Quickening, which speeds up the final hit of a Staff combo, letting you rapidly fire off a series of attacks.
Cricket Set
| Part | Recipe | Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Cricket Cap (Head) |
| Cricket Vest (Body) |
| Cricket Shin Guards (Legs) |
The Cricket Set is a top-tier armor for players who prefer ranged combat, offering solid protection and a cool design. You can craft it by researching Cricket parts, but be warned: Crickets are very challenging enemies, so getting the materials will be difficult.
This gear set includes a fantastic perk called Critical Recovery: When you heal teammates, you have a chance to significantly boost your own critical hit rate for a limited time, until you actually land a critical hit. This perk works especially well with the new Bardic Inspiration Mutation, which enhances allies whenever you attack, dodge, or perfectly block.
Black Ant Set
| Part | Recipe | Stats |
|---|---|---|
| Black Ant Helmet (Head) |
| Black Ant Arm Guards (Body) |
| Black Ant Legplates (Legs) |
The Black Ant set is powerful gear you can find fairly early on in the new Garden Biome. You’ll encounter Black Ants at the War-Thorn Anthill, located in the upper right corner of the map – the area you need to cross to reach the Garden Biome. Be careful, though! Red and Black Ants are constantly fighting there, making it a risky place where you can quickly be overwhelmed if you’re not prepared.
What makes the Rogue Armor set special is its unique ability, Parry Criticals. Whenever you successfully block an attack with perfect timing (a parry), it gives you a temporary boost to your chance of landing a critical hit with your next attack.
