The creator of the satirical GTA 6-inspired game, Grand Taking Ages, is back on Steam following its temporary removal.
Around about a month back, a game titled Grand Theft Auto VI Ages popped up on Steam and PlayStation Store, giving off an uncanny resemblance to Rockstar’s much-awaited 2025 launch, GTA 6, as both shared the same abbreviation (GTA VI). Upon closer inspection, it was found that Grand Theft Auto Ages VI wasn’t actually the highly anticipated game itself, but a simulation where players manage a game development studio while dealing with challenges faced by developers during the game creation process. However, due to its questionable presentation, this game has been removed from both Steam and PlayStation Store.
Despite being removed from the PlayStation Store, Grand Theft Auto 6 parody game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Reimagined (GTA SA) is now available again on Steam. According to its developer Violarte, they had a different approach with Steam as they communicated early about the game’s concept during the submission process. After being taken down, the game went through a comprehensive review before being listed once more on the platform.
Upon coming back to Steam, you’ll notice some notable distinctions in the listing of the GTA 6 parody game. The title “Grand Theft Auto VI” is now simply “Grand Taking Ages.” Furthermore, there are new visuals, a recently released trailer, and an updated description. These alterations have been implemented to distinguish “Grand Taking Ages” from the original source, GTA 6, and highlight its distinctive path.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that the developers of Grand Taking Ages have made some significant updates and improvements to our upcoming game. They’ve recently communicated their confidence that these changes will allow the game to reappear on the PlayStation Store. Mark your calendars for July 2025, as this epic adventure is set to launch then! Here’s a sneak peek at the revised description:
Get Ready for the Long Awaited Debut! Kick off your game development adventure in Mom’s Garage! Face off against irate spectators, outwit relentless reporters, and master the craft of flexible deadlines. Subsist on pizza and energy drinks as you transform your dream studio from… a modest garage into something just a little more refined!
