GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Receives Major Update for PC and Consoles

As a long-time fan who’s seen the evolution of GTA since its early days, this update to the Definitive Edition is like a nostalgia trip on steroids! The return of classic lighting and improved swimming animations have me feeling like I’m back in the ’90s, albeit with better graphics.

The latest upgrade for the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has been rolled out, incorporating several improvements originally seen in the mobile adaptation across console and PC platforms.

As reported by Rockstar Intel, an update has been rolled out today across platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Epic Games, and Rockstar Games Launcher for the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. For those curious, this collection encompasses GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City, and GTA III. The size of each game update may vary depending on the specific platform you’re using.

As a gaming enthusiast diving into the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition, I’m thrilled to share that an eagerly awaited addition has now graced consoles and PCs in this latest update. This feature is none other than ‘Classic Lighting’. By flicking its switch on, you can recapture the original games’ authentic sky ambiance. To experience this trip down memory lane, navigate to ‘Settings’, then ‘Graphics’, and voila! Toggle ‘Classic Lighting’ to bring back those nostalgic vibes.

To add to that, the update for the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has other notable changes too. Initially, character models have undergone some refinements, making swimming animations appear smoother and more lifelike. Furthermore, players can now fire their weapons while running in GTA III and Vice City. The street lights have been altered to an orange hue and are now adorned with a flare, emulating the atmosphere of the original games. Last but not least, references to Grove Street Games will no longer be present after this update.
