T1 Esports has announced that Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong is leaving the team. This marks the end of a seven-year run where T1 famously won three League of Legends World Championships in a row, most recently claiming the title just a few days ago in 2025.
T1 fans were surprised when Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je left the team earlier in 2024, but Gumayusi’s recent announcement that he’s leaving feels different. His departure is happening very early in the off-season and comes as his contract with T1 expires.

T1 recently announced that Gumayusi is leaving the team, expressing deep appreciation for his contributions over the past few years. They confirmed that the decision to leave was entirely Gumayusi’s own.

Although Gumayusi was named MVP at the 2025 World Championship, he faced a difficult year beforehand. He was briefly removed from the starting lineup earlier in the season, and his team, T1, barely qualified for the tournament. This challenging period and the team’s struggles might have led Gumayusi to consider opportunities with a new organization.
