Hades-Like ARPG ‘Ember and Blade’ Shares New Gameplay, Demo Date [EXCLUSIVE]

Game Rant is excited to share a new trailer and release date for the next demo of Ember and Blade! Players will be able to try out a playable version of LINE Games’ action RPG shortly before Steam Next Fest in October 2025.

LINE Games, a company based in Seoul and part of LINE Yahoo, was established in 2012. They’ve developed and published a few games so far, including the roguelike action RPG *Next Hero* and the visual novel *Buried Stars*, which came out in 2018 and 2021. Their upcoming game, *Ember and Blade*, is a fast-paced action game where you fight waves of enemies. It features a distinctive art style and a complex story, with gameplay that’s similar to *Hades* but has its own unique progression system. While *Hades* lets you choose upgrades after each room, *Ember and Blade* focuses on surviving enemy waves and using temporary power-ups, called ‘blessings,’ and skill combinations during gameplay.

Ember and Blade Showcases Stylish Gameplay in New Trailer

LINE Games has released a new trailer for Ember and Blade, which Game Rant is excited to share first. The two-minute video gives players another look at the game’s large-scale battles and hints at its story – a journey to prevent a powerful archdemon from returning. Around the middle of the trailer, viewers can see the game’s skill tree, which includes both passive abilities like Empyreal Resolve (boosting Blessing damage) and active skills such as Flash Counter, allowing players to quickly retaliate after a successful dodge.

Another Ember and Blade Demo Launching on October 3

A new demo for *Ember and Blade* will be released on October 3rd, just before Steam Next Fest begins, according to LINE Games. Steam Next Fest starts on October 13th and lasts for seven days. The *Ember and Blade* demo will probably be removed from Steam after the event is over.

I’m so excited for this next playable version of the game! You might remember there was a short demo back in July 2025, and this one is going to be a big step forward. The developers are calling it a ‘vertical slice,’ which basically means it’s a really polished look at a specific part of the full game. We’re finally getting to play through Act 2, and they’re adding some new angel allies to help us out, plus a brand new boss to fight! It’s not the same demo as before, it’s a much bigger experience.

The action RPG *Ember and Blade* is expected to be fully released in 2026. Before that, LINE Games plans to make it available on Steam Early Access by the end of 2025, as announced in July. Currently, the game is only confirmed for PC, and pricing information hasn’t been revealed yet.
