Haikyuu Spin-Off Manga Ends

Summary

  • Haikyuu-Bu!! spin-off series has concluded, focusing on rival schools.
  • Fans are eagerly waiting for news on the final Haikyuu movie.
  • Production cuts parts from the manga, such as the Brazil arc, leading to dissatisfaction.

The popular manga series “Haikyuu” has produced several spin-offs, one of which recently concluded its run. Known as one of the most successful Shonen Jump titles from the 2010s, fans are eagerly anticipating updates regarding the concluding chapter of the series. Regrettably, they’ll have to hold on a bit longer for details about the final movie.

In an observer’s perspective, “Haikyuu-Bu!!”, a captivating spin-off, offers a fresh take on familiar characters who often take a backseat in the main manga. Despite not being the finale some fans anticipated, this series skillfully wraps up the narrative thread, concluding the storyline.

Haikyuu-Bu!! Has Recently Ended

Spin-off Focused on Rival Schools

Yesterday, March 23, 2025, marked the release of the last installment for the Haikyuu-Bu!! series, a spin-off that was penned by Kyohei Miyajima and not the original author, Haruichi Furudate. This captivating storyline has been unfolding on Shonen Jump+ since 2019. The final chapter (Volume 14) is set to hit shelves in Fall 2025.

The Haikyu Club is a comedy series centered around various rival schools, such as Aoba Johsai, Nekoma, Shiratorizawa, and more. The title implies that it portrays the day-to-day club activities of the competitors of Karasuno at these institutions.

When Will Haikyu The Final Movie 2 Be Out?

The last parts of the manga are being made into two films. The first one, called “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle”, came out in 2024. As for the second and concluding movie titled “Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant”, a release date has not been specified yet.

Fans had hoped to see a fresh trailer and details about the upcoming movie at AnimeJapan 2025, but nothing was unveiled during the convention. Lately, it has been announced that a spin-off anime will be produced, focusing on the exciting Fukurodani vs. Mujinazaka match during the Nationals tournament.

Is Haikyuu’s Final Saga Too Rushed?

Despite the fact that Dumpster Battle was a hit at the box office, many viewers have expressed dissatisfaction with how the production crew is wrapping up the final chapter of the series. They feel that the movie moves too quickly and omits significant portions from the manga, as there’s simply too much material to fit into one film.

In another scenario, Hinata Shoyo might skip his Brazil training stint before the finals, bypassing the “Brazil storyline”. This adjustment could potentially be considered if Haikyuu were a more specialized or moderately popular series. However, given that it’s one of the most successful sports and shonen anime ever produced, it seems unlikely this part will be omitted from adaptation.

Additionally, it’s possible that this isn’t the final chapter. If the films exceed expectations in terms of success, there might be a chance for a spin-off series titled “side story,” which would focus on events not shown in the movies, similar to Horimiya: The Missing Pieces.

Haikyuu is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English.
