Hallmark has unveiled 34 new ornaments themed around popular gaming systems like Xbox, Nintendo, and Sega, as well as their famous characters. This year has been exceptional for Xbox and Nintendo, with Microsoft’s Minecraft movie earning over $800 million globally and Nintendo’s Switch 2 console scheduled to hit stores within a month from now.
Hallmark is well-known for being the preferred choice for greeting cards, gifts, trinkets, and various other items. It’s also widely recognized as a top destination for holiday shoppers, particularly for its extensive range of Christmas decorations and tree ornaments. Over time, Hallmark has expanded its appeal to enthusiasts of popular culture, offering Christmas ornaments inspired by renowned franchises such as Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Harry Potter, beloved Disney characters, and other well-liked movies and series. Previously, we’ve seen some appearances from famous video game franchises, and this year, Hallmark is set to unveil a large collection of new ornaments themed around popular video games.
Even though Christmas is still several months off, Hallmark has introduced a fresh collection of Christmas tree ornaments inspired by popular gaming consoles and video game icons. Ornaments representing Xbox are particularly noteworthy, with accurate reproductions of the original Xbox console and Xbox 360, including their controllers attached to the sides. For Halo enthusiasts, a standout item might be the intricately detailed Halo 3 Xbox 360 game box ornament featuring a 3D Master Chief emerging from the famous game artwork. Fans of the Minecraft movie can also look forward to an ornament showcasing the pink sheep character seen in the film.
New Hallmark Ornament Collection Boasts Xbox 360, Halo 3 Box, Pokémon, and More
Although Xbox contributes some notable items to Hallmark’s latest gaming-themed collection, a large portion of the decorative pieces revolve around Nintendo, particularly characters from Pokemon such as Jigglypuff, Bulbasaur, Rowlet, and Pikachu. Similar to Xbox, Nintendo offers miniature ornaments of two of its classic consoles, the NES and SNES. The collection also includes a golden Legend of Zelda game cartridge, along with what appears to be the pièce de résistance for Nintendo enthusiasts: a Mario Super Star tree topper that sparkles and seems to play the well-known Super Star jingle from various popular Mario games.
Enthusiasts of Xbox and Nintendo might be excitedly anticipating these stunning Christmas tree decorations, but they may need to exercise a bit of patience, as most of them won’t be available until a few months from now. The majority are set to hit the shelves on October 11, but some are scheduled for an earlier release on July 12. On the bright side, ornaments representing Nintendo consoles, the original Xbox, and the Sega Genesis are already up for grabs, so fans of these systems should act quickly before they disappear.
