The popular Hallow’s End event, a Halloween celebration, came back to World of Warcraft on October 18th. Players can earn special, limited-time cosmetic items, including updated versions of weapons, armor, and a famous mount, all themed around the event’s main boss, the Headless Horseman.
As a long-time Warcraft player, I remember how Hallow’s End actually started way back in Warcraft 3! It all goes back to the Frozen Throne expansion, when Sylvanas Windrunner and her Forsaken broke away from the Lich King. They eventually became a playable race in World of Warcraft, and Hallow’s End is basically their way of celebrating that freedom. The Worgen also celebrate, but for them it’s a darker reminder of the struggles they’ve been through. You can still experience it today in the latest expansion, The War Within, and of course, in WoW Classic!
Until November 1st, players of *World of Warcraft* can battle the Headless Horseman in a special event at the Scarlet Monastery. Winning against him in *The War Within* will reward players with updated versions of older cosmetic items. Each day, players are guaranteed to receive one piece of the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Armor set after their first victory – and they won’t receive any duplicates.

You can get the Horseman’s Ghoulish weapons during the Hallow’s End event by trading Tricky Treats to vendors near Stormwind and Orgrimmar. You earn Tricky Treats by finding Candy Buckets at inns all over Azeroth, completing special quests during the event, and defeating the Headless Horseman himself. Don’t miss out – past Hallow’s End rewards are also available from the Horseman and the vendors while the event is active.
During the Hallow’s End event in *World of Warcraft*, players can get a Loot-Filled Pumpkin each day by defeating the Headless Horseman. These pumpkins might contain the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger mount, which is an improved version of the older Headless Horseman’s Steed. The Steed used to be incredibly rare, considered one of the hardest mounts to get in *World of Warcraft* because it was only available for a short time and had a very low drop chance.

Players have a lot to look forward to in World of Warcraft this weekend! The Hallow’s End event is back with new cosmetic items, all exclusive to the upcoming *The War Within* expansion. Plus, the rare Horseman’s Steed mount can still be earned in *Mists of Pandaria Classic*. And, players are also participating in a test of the new player housing feature before its release in Midnight.
