In September 2025, Halo Infinite launched a significant update, heralding the start of Operation: Warpath. This ongoing event brings in a fresh game mode, a revised playlist, and numerous additional features enriching the Halo Infinite experience.
After the highly praised launch of Halo Infinite in December 2021, the game included 10-level battle passes for two years. Later in October 2023, during Season 05: Reckoning, developer 343 Industries updated this idea by renaming them as Operations, each containing 20-level battle passes.
Halo Infinite Launches Operation: Warpath, Available Until October 7
The new operation for Halo Infinite titled “Warpath” began on September 9 and will run until October 7. In this event, a fresh Invasion mode has been introduced where players are divided into teams consisting of eight members each, with one team attacking and the other defending. The objective for the attacking team is to assault the defenders, while the defenders aim to repel them. Each round progresses through three unique phases, each with different objectives that award a single point upon completion. If the defenders manage to fend off the attackers, the round ends and teams switch roles. The Invasion mode features six smaller maps designed for linear progression, and it is accessible within a special playlist during Operation: Warpath.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to announce the return of the Hayabusa Zokuhen bundle to The Exchange! This epic Dragon Ninja armor is making a comeback in Halo Infinite, as we gear up for the anticipated release of Ninja Gaiden 4 on October 21. The official word from the developers suggests that this bundle will disappear “forever” after Operation: Warpath, but given its history, only time will tell if that’s actually true.

In the lineup for Operation: Warpath comes a fresh competitive mode called Ranked Legacy, specifically designed for Halo Infinite. As the name suggests, this playlist delves into the long-standing history of the series, reimagining beloved maps from the first three Halo installments. The purpose of adding this feature is to recreate the atmosphere of traditional game modes like Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Oddball, and Slayer, as confirmed by 343 Industries in a press release.
In this version, Ranked Play incorporates a retro-style setting from Operation: Legacy’s Delta Arena, which includes changes to ranked matches such as disabling player sprinting and allowing friendly collisions. The Bandit Evo weapon is abundant across various spawn points in this play mode, and players begin each match completely unarmed, only equipped with a Battle Rifle.

Last Chance: Hayabusa Zokuhen

Streamlined and deadly, the upcoming iteration of Project: HAYABUSA is poised towards the future while honoring its history. The revered Dragon Ninja makes a comeback in Halo Infinite to celebrate the launch of NINJA GAIDEN 4 on October 21, 2025.

New Halo Infinite Mode: Invasion

The enemy is at the gates. You must thwart their advances, or relinquish sacred ground.
In the team-based 8 vs. 8 Invasion mode, the Offense team attempts to storm the fortified positions of the Defenders with the goal of accomplishing objectives and pushing them back. The game is broken down into three distinct phases, each with a specific objective that must be met. Success is determined by how much ground is captured, new goals achieved, and improved equipment for all teams. If the Defenders manage to thwart the Offense’s plans, the round comes to an end and the sides switch roles.
Time to put their backs to the wall!
Winning Rounds in Invasion
The progression of each invasion stage is broken down into three distinct sections, each offering specific targets to conquer. Successfully capturing an objective earns attackers a step towards triumph and moves them forward to the next phase, where they’ll have access to upgraded weaponry and fresh spawn points situated further behind enemy lines.
Maps for invasions are structured linearly, allowing conflict to focus on strategic bottlenecks initially, which later expands into larger-scale fights as intruders gain access to additional territories.
Should adversaries succeed in a phase, both sides can choose fresh sets of improved equipment when they respawn. It’s crucial for defenders to prevent enemy access to the objective for as long as possible, thus concluding the round immediately. Once they do, it’s their chance to take the offensive!
Where to Play Invasion
In tribute to the legendary game Halo: Reach and the brave Spartans who guarded its servers, we’re keeping the Invasion banner hoisted high in a special playlist for the entirety of Operation: Warpath. Join us now until October 7!
At the conclusion of Operation: Warpath, Invasion will join the Squad Battle playlist.
Remember Halo: Reach
We’re all set! What about you? In celebration of the 15th anniversary of ‘Halo: Reach’, our own ‘ske7ch’ will be hosting an ‘Halo: Reach’ anniversary panel on the Community Stage at the Halo World Championships in October.
In the game “Operation: Warpath,” we’re excitedly reintroducing the cherished Invasion mode, which initially appeared during the multiplayer beta of “Halo: Reach.
To rekindle the enchantment in Halo Infinite, we chose to broaden the selection of playable maps, introduce a fresh goal, and fine-tune the available loadouts to create an exhilarating experience!
6 New (Invasion) Maps

In the game Halo: Reach, there were three playable Invasion maps. We’ve now increased that to a total of six unique maps, each with its own sequence of objectives. The original Invasion maps “Breakpoint” and “Boneyard” (now referred to as “Recovery”) are back, along with four brand-new arenas specifically designed for the Invasion mode.
Check out all the Invasion maps in our official playlist overview.
New Invasion Objective
As a dedicated gamer diving into the world of Halo, I’ve got to say, the Invasion maps in Halo: Reach were a blast! We had three main objectives: Capture the Zone, Assault, and Core Delivery. But now, with the latest addition, Halo Infinite, things have gotten even more exciting! Instead of just three, we’ve got a fourth objective – Payload. This time, it’s our job to escort a moving cargo along a set path. It’s a whole new challenge that adds an extra layer of strategy and fun to the game!
On Payload maps, achieving this fresh goal can earn you up to two points: first, by transporting the payload to an intermediate checkpoint, and second, by successfully completing it at the ultimate destination.
Objective Updates
On Capture the Zone objectives, the capture duration has been extended to 30 seconds (was 25 seconds in Halo: Reach). This adjustment aims to provide Defenders with additional time to strategize and mount a stronger defense on the newly designed, more challenging maps.
Reach,” with the key elements remaining consistent. However, instead of transporting a data core, you’ll be waving a flag. Quite a different reach indeed!
Loadout Symmetry
In specific invasion stages of Halo: Reach, opposing sides could pick from a diverse selection of customizable loadouts. On the other hand, in Halo Infinite’s Invasion mode, both teams will have equal access to an identical range of loadouts throughout each round, allowing you to explore them all. Check out the available loadouts here.

In Ranked Legacy, there’s a competitive twist on Delta Arena’s nostalgic backdrops, featuring tweaks for ranked gameplay like quicker respawns and deactivated Motion Trackers.
