Over the past two decades, Halo has had numerous collaborations with other games, which is quite a lot compared to most titles. The first cross-game partnership for Halo was in 2005 when Spartan-458 was made playable in Dead or Alive 4. Since then, there has been an abundance of collaborations. For example, a variety of Halo skins became available in Minecraft, the Arbiter joined the cast of Killer Instinct Season 3, and characters like Master Chief, Arbiter, and Grunt were added to the roster of playable characters in the Xbox One version of Super Bomberman R. Characters from Halo: Reach, Kat and Emile, also made appearances in Gears 5. In recent years, several popular games such as Fortnite, Fall Guys, Brawlhalla, and Rainbow Six Siege have added Halo-themed cosmetics to their gameplay.
Most of the crossovers associated with the Halo franchise have been single-use events, where games collaborate with the Sci-Fi series only once. However, this is not true for Forza Horizon, a racing series that has repeatedly interacted with Halo, as demonstrated by its repeated appearances in the water of the Halo universe. This pattern continues even in the latest release of Forza Horizon, which is Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 5 Added a Drivable Warthog in 2021
The Forza Horizon series has a rich tradition of teaming up with Halo, dating back to 2016. Approximately a month following its launch, the Forza Horizon 3 game included a drivable 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST, which was initially accessible only to those who owned either Halo 5: Guardians or Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
In the game Forza Horizon 4, the Warthog vehicle reappeared, this time accompanied by a Halo-themed racetrack that was reminiscent of the “Warthog Run” from Halo 3. This track had players racing along a beach in a Warthog, with Pelican dropships flying overhead and Cortana, voiced by Jen Taylor, urging them to speed up.
Once more, in the third consecutive instance, the Warthog reappeared in Forza Horizon 5. This legendary vehicle within Forza Horizon 5 goes by the name Warthog and carries a price tag of 850,000 in-game credits. It swiftly gained immense popularity as one of the game’s preferred off-road vehicles.
Forza Horizon 5 Added Over 70 Halo Props in November 2024
In November 2024, to mark the 20th anniversary of Halo 2 and the 10th anniversary of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizon 5 incorporated 71 unique Halo-themed items into its EventLab map creator. Some of these items were borrowed from Forza Horizon 4’s Halo racetrack, while many more were directly sourced from Halo’s own Forge mode.
To date, the most extensive collaboration between Forza and Halo, the EventLab pack introduced numerous emblematic Halo items into Forza Horizon 5. These include Covenant deployable shields and drop pods, Forerunner structures like light bridges, UNSC weapons crates, stationary Warthogs and Pelicans, the stone rings similar to those in the memorable reveal trailer of Halo Infinite, and more. With these items, fans have the opportunity to build their ideal Halo racetracks.
As a devoted fan, I was thrilled to discover that these additions came with not one, but two stunning skyboxes adorned with Halo themes. One depicted the iconic array in broad daylight, while the other showcased it under the starlit night sky. Additionally, some of my favorite Halo tunes were integrated into Forza Horizon 5’s radio playlists, such as the Halo 2: Anniversary theme, the Halo ‘Gungir Mix’, Installation 04 from Halo: Combat Evolved, and The Trials from Halo 5: Guardians.
