In the game “Red Dead Redemption,” John Marston embarks on an extraordinary voyage. If players aspire to be a Legend of the Old West, they must accomplish every achievement and trophy associated with the game. This task can be quite daunting for those striving for 100% completion in “Red Dead Redemption,” and there are several reasons why this is so.
This passage discusses the hardest accomplishments to unlock in the game ‘Red Dead Redemption’ and offers guidance on how to achieve them, enabling players to embark on an adventure set in the waning days of the Wild West, where they can earn some incredibly challenging ‘Red Dead Redemption’ trophies.
8. No Dice
Keep Every Dice and Win the Game
- Complete a game of Liar’s Dice without losing a single die.
In the exciting mini-game called Liar’s Dice within “Red Dead Redemption”, there’s more to it than just fun. Earning the trophy ‘No Dice’ requires players to complete a game without losing any die, and this isn’t as simple as it sounds. The AI in this game is quite skilled at Liar’s Dice, so players must learn when to bluff, call out others, or tell the truth to deceive the AI and secure victory. A clever strategy for this mini-game involves telling the truth, which forces opponents to bluff. This tactic makes it simpler for players to make their opponents lose their dice.
7. Unnatural Selection
Kill 26 Different Animals

- Kill one of every animal species in the game in any game mode.
In the original game, “Red Dead Redemption,” not as many animal species are available compared to its sequel, “Red Dead Redemption 2.” However, if players aim for the Unnatural Selection achievement, they must hunt and eliminate every one of the 26 specific animals listed. These animals make up the requirement for this achievement.
- Armadillo
- Bear
- Beaver
- Bighorn
- Boar
- Bobcat
- Buffalo
- Cougar
- Coyote
- Crow
- Deer
- Duck
- Eagle
- Elk
- Fox
- Hawk
- Horse
- Owl
- Rabbit
- Raccoon
- Skunk
- Seagull
- Snake
- Songbird
- Vulture
- Wolf
6. Friends in High Places
Remove a Very, Very Expensive Bounty

- Use a pardon letter with a bounty of more than $5,000.
In the course of playing Red Dead Redemption, players may find themselves with plenty of resources at their disposal, but $5,000 is still quite expensive for 1911 standards, considering it demands a significant amount of violence. To acquire this sum, players must lower their moral standing by ruthlessly killing innocent civilians and committing other heinous acts, which in turn raises their bounty. This bloodshed forces them to confront the brutal reality of their actions.
To cleanse themselves of their crimes, players must find a Pardon Letter, either from hidden chests, Gang Hideouts, or safes. Using this letter is free, but the moral cost and time spent amassing a bounty and losing Honor may lead some to revert to a previous save game.
5. Mowing Them Down
Use a Mounted Weapon on 500 Enemies

- Kill 500 enemies with a mounted weapon in any game mode.
As a fan, I found myself challenged by “Mowing Them Down,” a trophy that demands the elimination of 500 enemies using a mounted weapon, either a Gatling Gun or a Cannon. However, achieving this trophy isn’t a walk in the park, as you soon realize that repeating missions doesn’t help and these weapons aren’t easily found in missions. Fortunately, El Presidio offers cannons for players to use, or the Maxim Gun at the El Matadero safehouse. By stirring up trouble, I managed to lure enemies towards these locations, allowing me to continuously eliminate 500 of them. However, it’s important to note that this process might take some time.
4. Spurred Victory
Keep Your Horse Alive and Well for 20 Missions Straight

- Complete 20 story missions without switching to a new horse at a hitching post.
In the game Red Dead Redemption, compared to its predecessor Red Dead Redemption 2, horses function differently. In Red Dead Redemption 2, horses are claimed by Arthur Morgan using a map marker and a saddle, and their locations remain fixed since they do not randomly spawn. Conversely, in Red Dead Redemption, the player’s horse is marked only once and can spontaneously appear with a whistle. If players wish to accomplish an achievement that may be missed, they must maintain constant vigilance over their horse by hitching and unhitching it, and make sure it doesn’t get destroyed during missions or otherwise, for a run of 20 consecutive horses.
3. Frontiersman
Complete At Least One Ambient Challenge

- Obtain Legendary rank in any Ambient Challenge.
In the game Red Dead Redemption, there are 4 Ambient Challenges: Master Hunter, Sharpshooter, Survivalist, and Treasure Hunter. To earn this achievement, players simply need to accomplish one of these challenges, but that’s still a total of 10 tasks, each with its own set of challenging activities. Although players can pick and choose among them, these challenges aren’t exactly straightforward, and players will have to invest time and skill to uncover hidden collectibles or eliminate enemies in creative ways.
2. On the Trail of de Vaca
Discover Every Map Location

- Uncover every location on the map.
To complete this challenge, players should ensure they’re equipped with durable boots, loaded revolvers, and a reliable steed for traversing the Wild West. The quest “On the Trail of de Vaca” demands visiting each location marked on the map. While buying maps from General Stores can help simplify the trophy hunt slightly, finding every single location may not be guaranteed. Players will still need to discover hidden areas and use the Social Club to identify unvisited spots on the map.
1. Redeemed
Complete Everything The Game Has to Offer

- Attain 100% in the Game Completion stat.
The most challenging trophy to earn in Red Dead Redemption is “Redeemed,” which can only be achieved by exploring and completing all aspects of the game. This includes acquiring every rare weapon, finishing all 57 main missions, collecting every outfit, discovering every Gang Hideout, and meeting various ambient challenges. Players who aim for this trophy should be prepared for numerous hours of gameplay and a strong commitment to complete everything in Red Dead Redemption.
