The timing of our encounter depends on the choices made throughout the game. This colossal, flaming boulder requires a cool touch to weaken it – players must douse it with snow. Once weakened, it’s time to crack its shell open with a well-placed smash!
Following that, the challenges intensify since Inflammonite spawns escaping entities that players must pursue using DK’s Zebra Bananza shape during combat. This boss battle is intricate with numerous stages involved, and skipping any of them can be quite annoying as it forces a restart from the beginning. However, on the bright side, there will be ample space for dodging Inflammonite’s attacks to ensure safety.
6. Muckety-Muck
Pour Some Salt On Me In The Name Of Love
- Location: Feast Layer
In the game Donkey Kong Bananza, Muckety-Muck serves as the ultimate adversary in the advanced Sublayer known as the Feast Layer. This colossal slug is similar to numerous other slug enemies within the Feast Layer in that it can be weakened using salt.
In the game, when players target Muckety-Muck, they’ll encounter numerous smaller opponents and enemies. The space is cramped, making navigation challenging, and the sheer amount of activity can make it tough to concentrate. Interestingly, Muckety-Muck doesn’t pose a significant threat, which means if players slip up in their strategy, losing the fight feels even more disheartening.
5. Sinister Blusterwing
Beware The Bat
- Location: Tempest Layer
In the realm known as Tempest Layer, a menacing creature called Blusterwing makes an appearance. This creature must be confronted multiple times. After each defeat, it will withdraw temporarily. The good news is that to weaken it, players only need to hurl objects at its wings. Once the wings are damaged, they can attack the creature directly, ultimately ending the encounter.
The equation might seem straightforward on paper, but navigating the battlefields can be quite challenging, and Sinister Blusterwing’s speed makes it difficult to land hits on its wings. To make matters worse, players must dodge attacks simultaneously. Even with the most powerful Bananza Power from Donkey Kong Bananza, the Elephant Bananza, the final encounter remains tough.
4. Void Kong (Final)
Relies On Gadgets
- Location: Forbidden Layer
Just like Sinister Blusterwing, Void Kong employs a comparable retreat strategy. Initially, players must engage him in multiple Sublayers before they can progress beyond The Junction, which is roughly midway through the game. The ultimate confrontation ensues in the Forbidden Layer, where Void Kong will unleash all his arsenal against Donkey Kong.
This character possesses the ability to shoot lasers, summon adversaries, construct icy and fiery barriers, and anything in between. His confrontations are similar to chaotic shooter games like “bullet hell,” or for comparison, a role-playing game called “Undertale“. By the penultimate Sublayer, players should have honed their skill in avoiding attacks.
3. Abracajabya
Getting To The Root Of The Problem
- Location: Forest Layer
In the game, Abracajabya boasts an exceptionally stylish boss design reminiscent of a vegetable-inspired Black Mage from the Final Fantasy series. The moniker itself hints at magic, as it emerges at the end of the Forest Layer. Abracajabya is a colossal beanstalk entity that unleashes poison and thorns upon players from afar.
To interact closely with the tentacle-rooted giants, you’ll need to scale them, but beware! Each root is fortified with sharp thorns and toxic barriers that make progress difficult. If players don’t act swiftly, Abracajabya will hide in another flower tower. Swiftness and quick reactions are essential for this boss battle modeled after Kaiju creatures.
2. King K. Rool
A Truly Fun Reveal of DK’s Greatest Villain
- Location: Planet Core
King K. Rool, initially the main antagonist of “Donkey Kong Country,” has consistently troubled Donkey Kong across various games. However, his appearance following the defeat of Void Kong in “Donkey Kong Bananza” came as a shock. This unexpected reveal set the stage for one of three possible final boss battles. The first of these encounters takes place within the Planet Core, where players must skillfully dodge a barrage of bullets and gold.
In contrast to other boss battles within the game, King K. Rool boasts an enormous health pool, making it difficult for players to inflict significant damage, even in the mighty Bananza form, Kong Bananza. Following his defeat, there’s a deceptive feeling of relief before he miraculously resurrects, much like in Donkey Kong Country. However, this second form isn’t particularly powerful compared to the first.
1. K. Rool, King Of Rot
Rotten To The Core
- Location: New Donk City
After overpowering King K. Rool, DK and Pauline reach New Donk City following a wish on the Banandium Root. However, the lizard king wasn’t completely defeated as he snatched the Banandium Root, converting New Donk City into his amusement park. Players will subsequently encounter a string of challenging tests before confronting him one final time in his ultimate form: King K. Rool, the King of Rot.
In the upgraded version, much like its original form, it boasts an abundance of health and more potent attacks. The most challenging aspect during this boss battle is evading successive waves of banana mush. To make things easier, gear from the game Donkey Kong Bananza offers protection against these bananas, so it’s crucial to be well-prepared. This epic battle is more like a long run, but the thrill of defeating K. Rool, the King of Rot, is truly exhilarating when he finally falls.
