Following nearly a decade in production, “Lost Soul Aside” has been released for both PS5 and PC platforms. While it may have some imperfections, it’s currently offering one of the most enjoyable and hard-to-put-down hack-and-slash adventures out there. The combat system is robust, and the clashes against common enemies are tough, but the game truly shines in its extensive roster of epic boss battles.
In Lost Soul Aside, regardless of whether the adversaries are typical human warriors or colossal Voidrax creatures, each boss possesses an arsenal of impressive and potent attacks designed to push Kaser’s (and by extension, the player’s) fighting skills to their limits. It goes without saying that there are numerous tough battles against bosses in Lost Soul Aside, but the eight listed below are the most difficult encounters in the entire game.
Lord GoldenLion
The First Real Challenge in Kaser’s Adventure
- Fought in: Mount Salvation
- Number of HP bars: 2
- Recommended Weapon: Sword
In the initial stages of the game “Lost Soul Aside”, there are numerous thrilling encounters. However, it’s not until Kaser reaches Mount Salvation that he comes across his first significant boss – the mighty Lord GoldenLion. Each knight of Seleria has distinctive combat skills, and for GoldenLion, he can grow in size and conjure up golden replicas of himself during battle.
The encounter with Lord GoldenLion marks the game’s initial significant test, as defeating him necessitates more than just repetitive button-mashing. His immense stomps generate persistent shockwaves that can be challenging to evade or shield; his ‘soccer ball’ attack is difficult to counteract early in the game, and the lightning he summons when low on health can inflict heavy damage. Although tougher opponents appear later in Lost Soul Aside‘s storyline, Lord GoldenLion stands out for making players familiarize themselves with the nuances of the combat system, setting the stage for what’s to come.
Zana
A Strong Warrior with Many Quick Attacks

- Fought in: Mistwood
- Number of HP bars: 3
- Recommended Weapon: Poleblade
During Kaser’s expedition across Mistwood, he encounters numerous strong warriors infected by Voidrax energy – even his trusted friend and partner, Zana, is among them. Yet, overcoming this challenge will not be simple; the impending fight ranks among the most difficult ones in the entire game.
Zana isn’t just strong, she’s also swift in combat, making her attacks elusive and tough to dodge or defend against. To add insult to injury, the blossom bombs she scatters on the battlefield inflict significant damage and limit Kaser’s mobility. In her final stage, Zana will conceal herself in a misty fog to ambush him unexpectedly. Players must stay alert, time their perfect blocks precisely if they hope to counterattack and deplete her health bar to zero.
Buckhorn Spirit Dragon
A Ruthless Encounter Against a Beautiful Legendary Beast

- Fought in: Skycrest Badlands
- Number of HP bars: 3
- Recommended Weapon: Sword
Following rumors about the Buckhorn Spirit Dragon echoing across Skycrest Badlands, encountering and engaging in combat with it was nothing short of fulfilling. What initially appeared as a typical battle against a large creature soon transformed into an unexpectedly tough skirmish. At first glance, it seemed like a routine fight with a massive beast, but the situation rapidly deteriorated for the player when the Spirit Dragon sprouted two additional wings on its back, intensifying the challenge.
As a gamer, I’ve got my work cut out for me: I need to demolish those pesky Voidrax crystals that are strategically placed across the battleground. After that, it’s a dance of dodging and weaving as I dodge or shield myself from an onslaught of elemental attacks – think lightning storms, hails of ice blasts, and more. To make matters trickier, the Spirit Dragon is relentless in its physical assaults with its claws, tail, and horns. This fight can feel like a whirlwind at times, but if I keep my eyes peeled and stay agile, I’ve got a shot at subduing this legendary beast and claiming victory!
Mysterious Monster
One of the Most Powerful Voidrax Creatures in the Game

- Fought in: Skycrest Badlands
- Number of HP bars: 4
- Recommended Weapon: Sword
In the Skycrest Badlands, Imperial Soldiers unintentionally release a formidable creature known as the Mysterious Monster while attempting to assault Kaser. This boss, with its impressive and stylish appearance, is frequently featured in the game’s promotional content due to its striking characteristics.
It’s reassuring that its combat performance lived up to expectations, as Voidrax is undoubtedly one of the toughest bosses found in the game ‘Lost Soul Aside’. The enigmatic monster brandishes two potent energy blades during battle, and due to its immense dimensions, its combo attacks cover a vast area that makes them challenging to dodge or shield. To add more difficulty, when Voidrax is close to defeat, it summons additional blades that emit lasers and slow down time, making it even harder to emerge victorious. However, this demanding confrontation is rewarding because it’s also one of the most thrilling and captivating boss battles in the game.
Liquid Energy Entity
Fighting a Literal Body of Water Has Never Been So Challenging

- Fought in: Lethonix Dimension
- Number of HP bars: 1
- Recommended Weapon: Poleblade
During Kaser’s mission to secure the Crystal Shard in the Lethonix Dimension, he encounters Aramon’s guard, whom we can call the Energy Entity, multiple times. After experiencing numerous irritations and frustrations, he eventually confronts this entity head-on in a solo battle at the final stage of the level. Despite its unassuming appearance, it turns out to be quite formidable during their showdown.
In the initial stage of the battle, the Liquid Energy Entity’s attacks are manageable due to their slow pace and predictability. However, things take a turn for the challenging in its second phase, as it transforms into a colossal water-based humanoid. This form presents a tough nut to crack, with its head being the only vulnerable spot, making direct hits difficult without precise timing or defensive maneuvers like parrying or breaking its protective shield. To complicate matters further, the Liquid Energy Entity maintains a safe distance by repeatedly launching wide-ranging, damaging water attacks that also push Kaser back.
Aramon
The Final Boss of the Game Presents a Worthy Challenge

- Fought in: Mount Salvation
- Number of HP bars: 3
- Recommended Weapon: Scythe
In the game Lost Soul Aside, the wicked commander of the Voidrax army, Aramon, serves as the primary adversary. After countless instances where his presence loomed over the main plot, the thrill of directly engaging him in an intense final battle was truly satisfying. Despite Kaser obtaining his strongest form just prior to their confrontation, thanks to Seleria and her knights, this epic boss battle remained challenging.
In typical fashion for a high-action character game’s final boss, Aramon unleashes extravagant, dramatic, and destructive attacks. He calls upon black holes that hone in on Kaser, draining his health rapidly if precautions aren’t taken; he fires laser beams shaped like triangles that blanket a wide area of impact; and he summons his ultimate form, which can end Kaser unless the Voidrax crystals scattered throughout the battlefield are destroyed. This tough final boss will put all the skills learned during the player’s journey to the test, making the triumph over Aramon even more rewarding.
Victor
The Long-Awaited Clash Against Kaser’s Imperial Rival Did Not Disappoint

- Fought in: Skycrest Badlands
- Number of HP bars: 3
- Recommended Weapon: Sword
Initially in 2016, during the announcement of the game Lost Soul Aside, a noteworthy aspect of its gameplay trailer caught attention – a thrilling battle between Kaser and an enigmatic white knight who could conjure a vast sea of shimmering golden swords. Following several years, this clash was transformed into an exhilarating boss fight against the character named Victor, and it most certainly met the high expectations set.
According to the initial trailer, Victor’s unique skill lies in summoning numerous golden swords that dance across the battlefield during combat with Kaser. Due to the rapid and unpredictable nature of these swords, accurately reading and countering his attacks can be extremely challenging as it’s often tough to determine which sword will deliver the decisive blow to the playable character. On the upside, Victor’s shield is vulnerable, he has a lot of health, and his shield bar recovers quickly, giving players only brief moments to inflict damage before they are once again faced with a flurry of flying swords. Despite its toughness, the fight against Victor is one of the most exciting in the game, making it unfortunate that he and Kaser never had a proper rematch.
Drogo
A Relentless “Soulslike” Boss in a Character Action Game

- Fought in: Frosthold Borderland
- Number of HP bars: 2
- Recommended Weapon: Greatsword
In the game “Lost Soul Aside,” the confrontation with Drogo is an unexpectedly impressive spectacle. At first glance, it appears to be just another human boss fight, a common occurrence in this game. However, what follows is a battle that proves to be far more challenging than anticipated. The encounter with Drogo echoes the intensity of battles from games like “Dark Souls” or “Bloodborne.” Defeating him demands meticulous blocking, precise dodging, and precise timing of attacks, making it an intricate dance of survival.
Beware of Drogo’s appearance being misleading, as his strikes are powerfully damaging and his shield is tough to shatter. His recovery rate is swift, allowing Kaser only brief moments to inflict damage before he regenerates and resumes attacking. Matters worsen in phase two, as Drogo unleashes his frost abilities to extend the range of his sword, launch fire projectiles that home in on you, and even hurl an icy spear that’s tricky to avoid.
In this interaction, it’s noteworthy that Drogo isn’t portrayed as a villain. Instead, he challenges Kaser to verify if he can guard Frosthold Borderland post-deactivation of the Storm-Walls. Interestingly, after being defeated, Drogo perishes, too. You’d be correct in thinking that Drogo is the most challenging boss in the entire game, and it’s fortunate players didn’t have to battle him at his strongest point.
