Harry Potter VR Game Canceled By Meta, It’s Claimed

Meta recently canceled a Harry Potter VR game following multiple studio closures and layoffs.

According to Gamertag VR on YouTube, the recent changes within Meta’s gaming division have impacted the development of the Harry Potter game, which was being created by Skydance.

According to reports, Meta has cancelled a number of games in development, including an official virtual reality Harry Potter game. The game was being created by Skydance.

The Future Of Harry Potter Games Is Safe

Even though the virtual reality Hogwarts game won’t be made, the wizarding world will live on in other video games. A sequel to the popular Hogwarts Legacy is currently in development, and it might even let players team up online. Hogwarts Legacy itself has already been a huge success, selling over 40 million copies.

Meta recently closed or downsized four of its game development studios – Twisted Pixel, Supernatural, Armature Studio, and Sanzaru Games – resulting in over 200 job losses. You can find more details about these changes here.
