Players of the game Heartopia are getting annoyed with how difficult it is to hang curtains. The game’s home decorating features are confusing, and many are struggling to simply decorate their windows. While there is a way to hang curtains, it’s not intuitive, and some players are asking the developers, XD, to simplify the process.
I was super excited when Heartopia finally came out globally on January 7th after its initial launch in China last summer! It’s a cozy life sim for mobile, and then it hit Steam about a week later, which was awesome. One of the best parts, like a lot of these games, is decorating your house. The developers at XD Inc. really gave us some cool tools to do it. There’s this feature called Blueprints – it’s basically a creative mode where you can save your designs as you go, or even copy your whole house! That means you can easily change colors or tweak the furniture layout without starting all over. It’s a game changer!
How To Properly Hang Curtains in Front of Windows in Heartopia
I’m really enjoying Heartopia, but I’ve noticed a frustrating issue with the home decorating! A lot of us are having trouble getting curtains to hang in front of windows – the game just won’t let us place them! Apparently, the system doesn’t allow two objects to occupy the same space on the wall, so curtains and windows are conflicting. It’s a bit annoying because people are starting to think curtains are completely useless if you can’t even put them with your windows, which is a shame because they could be a really nice touch!
Luckily, many players have quickly found a fix for the curtain problem. Instead of hanging curtains directly on the wall around windows, you need to attach them to the ceiling, above the window. Using the game’s precision mode helps get the curtains to line up neatly with the windows. This feature lets you place objects more accurately, making decorating easier and allowing you to quickly return to enjoying life in Heartopia without worrying about tiny details.
Some players are disappointed with how curtains work in the game, despite a feature allowing them to be mounted on the ceiling for unique designs. Many are aiming for more realism, and find the current implementation unrealistic. There are also issues with hanging curtains properly in multi-story houses, leading some to work around this by placing the curtain on the floor above and letting it hang down. Despite the intended ceiling-mounting design, some players are using a workaround to bypass placement rules and overlap decorations in Heartopia.

Since houses have multiple windows, players want to be able to decorate all of them with matching curtains. While extra curtains can be bought with Acorn Tickets at the Gilded Acorn Exhibition, these tickets are a limited resource. Because it’s hard to earn enough tickets through regular gameplay, some players are choosing to leave their windows undecorated.
