Upon chatting with the injured soldier, your mission will be to locate a first aid kit for him. The X’s marked on trees in the forest to the west from his location should guide you. To the left of the downed tree and directly ahead, there lies a rock pile that gleams yellow at its summit.
Engage with this to obtain the clue directly. The clue states: “The key’s location will remain a secret for you all! You lot are far too clueless! Arlo, who can barely read, might struggle, four-eyed Gus may be too blind to spot the red rock, and tiny Atti isn’t agile enough to climb that hill!
This might have been something you uncovered in the Hell Is Us demo.
Where to Find the Red Boulder in Hell Is Us’ Caddell Family Treasure Mystery
Keep moving forward on the curving path through the trees marked by X’s until you come across a stack of barrels with an X on one at the base (as shown in the image below). To your right, you’ll discover the soldier’s camp where you can find a medkit and a vial containing a peculiar substance. But beware! Just before the stack of barrels, there’s another path that leads back uphill. Take this path instead to reach the red boulder (which is actually just a pile of reddish-colored stones) near the edge.
Using this item will reward you with a ‘Rusty Key’, however, the game’s description doesn’t provide information on where to apply it.

Navigate your way back toward the weathered statue of a soldier, and on your left, you’ll spot a cluster of blue stones resting on a ledge. Upon seeing this, rotate around and search for a tree marked with an X, accompanied by some wooden pallets nearby. To the right of these, nestled between some trees, you’ll discover a concealed pathway. Proceed along this route, taking a turn to the right when it branches off. Descend from this path and you’ll find yourself before the blue stone pile, with a locked treasure chest beside it.
