Summary
- Update 2.6.1 for Hello Kitty Island Adventure on Apple Arcade introduces Under the Sea Celebration event.
- Expansion to Nintendo Switch and PC brought new players and updates, including April’s maximum visitor increase.
- Players can enjoy new features like Mermaid Scales, roller coaster ride, and upcoming PS4/PS5 release.
In a recent update, game developer Sunblink unveiled version 2.6.1, named “Under the Sea Celebration,” for the popular game, “Hello Kitty Island Adventure,” available on Apple Arcade. This is the initial upgrade for “Hello Kitty Island Adventure” since the limit of visitors allowed on players’ islands was expanded in April.
In July 2023, “Hello Kitty Island Adventure” premiered on Apple Arcade. Later, in January 2025, it made its way onto Nintendo Switch and PC. This expansion to multiple platforms enabled more gamers to enjoy the game, drawing a host of new enthusiasts. However, not all Apple Arcade features were initially present, necessitating updates for “Hello Kitty Island Adventure” on both PC and Switch. These updates, launched in April (PC) and May (Switch), respectively, introduced enhancements to the game’s internal systems.
As the Month of Meh with Gudetama draws to a close, players of Hello Kitty Island Adventure on Apple Arcade will dive into Under the Sea Celebration, a recurring event starting from May 28 and running until July 3. During this period, you can burst bubbles and gather Mermaid Scales which can then be traded for an array of ocean-themed costumes and accessories. This significant content update also introduces additional, above-water attractions that Hello Kitty Island Adventure fans will be eagerly anticipating. Unfortunately, a specific release date for the 2.6.1 update on Nintendo Switch and PC hasn’t been announced yet.
Additionally, players will encounter The Biggest Challenge update, which brings a host of exciting new elements. This comprises the unveiling of a thrilling roller coaster at Icy Peak, a talent show in bustling City Town, a fresh species of bloom to gather, and an array of supplementary quests that deepen the gaming experience by further immersing players into this captivating world. The entrance to the Icy Peak ride resembles its namesake, Big Challenges, potentially introducing some to one of Sanrio’s lesser-known characters while also delivering a heart-pounding journey alongside fellow Hello Kitty Island Adventure visitors.
Excitedly speaking as a devoted fan myself, I’m thrilled to share that the game is set to grace PlayStation consoles by 2025! Whether you’re a PS4 or PS5 owner, you’ll soon be able to immerse yourself in a Sanrio world filled with villagers, gifting, quests, and even personalizing cabins for beloved characters like Hello Kitty on your Sony console.
