Borderlands 4 is packed with incredibly powerful and unique weapons. These weapons don’t just deal damage – they often playfully nod to classic guns from other popular shooter games. One example is the Looming Hellwalker, a devastating double-barrel shotgun that returns from Borderlands 3. It’s clearly inspired by the signature shotgun of the Doomslayer and can eliminate most enemies with a single shot. This guide will show you how to acquire this powerful weapon quickly.
How to Get the Hellwalker (Doom) Shotgun in Borderlands 4
In *Borderlands 4*, players can obtain the powerful Hellwalker Double-Barrel shotgun by defeating the Immortal Boneface boss. You’ll find Boneface at the Ripper Drill Site, which is located right at the beginning of the Terminus Range.

At the beginning, the area is full of Rippers and gun turrets. After you’ve cleared that initial space, you’ll reach the boss arena. This arena is also packed with Ripper enemies, and you’ll have to watch out for the Queen’s Suicide Psycho, who will relentlessly pursue you with a bomb.

Once you’ve defeated the smaller enemies, the boss, known as The Immortal Boneface, will emerge from the dark opening in the center of the arena. The boss is piloting a mech called Saddleback, and you’ll need to destroy the mech before you can defeat them.

After you destroy the mech, the boss will be renamed “Not-So-Immortal Bonehead,” indicating you can now defeat them. Once you do, there’s a chance-determined randomly-that you’ll receive the legendary Hellwalker Shotgun in *Borderlands 4*.

If the Hellwalker doesn’t drop after defeating the boss, you can restart the fight using Moxxi’s Encore machine. You’ll find it just outside the arena, but you need to finish the Old Crap Ripper Drill Site at least once to unlock it.

The perk Sootheslayer is a clear nod to the Doomslayer from the Doom franchise.
The Hellwalker is a powerful, double-barreled shotgun made by Jakobs. It fires pellets in a star-shaped pattern, dealing massive damage to enemies. When you land a critical hit, the pellets can bounce off the initial target and hit nearby enemies as well. Once you reach the highest level, it’s worth trying to find another Hellwalker to get the strongest possible version of this weapon.
