Players of Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 now have the freedom to modify their characters’ names and appearances during gameplay, thanks to a recent update. Prior to this change, character customization was limited to the start of the game. However, with the latest update (the sixth in less than a month), players can now alter their characters’ design on-the-fly. The roguelite RPG already boasted extensive character customization through class skill trees, enchantable weapons, and its town-building feature. But this new update takes it to another level.
Since the January 14 release of Heroes of Hammerwatch 2, the Crackshell team has been consistently working hard in the ensuing weeks. Immediately post-launch, two updates were rolled out and since then, four more have followed, with some even being released on consecutive days. While many of these updates primarily addressed bug fixes, the latest one introduces a user-friendly new feature for players who may wish to alter their character’s appearance after beginning the game.
As a gamer, I was thrilled to discover that the latest update, Build 119, introduced a captivating element to my gaming world – a magical mirror in the Guild Hall! This magical mirror allows me to effortlessly modify my character’s appearance and name, offering an exciting new level of personalization.
Since building the Guild Hall is a prerequisite for accessing other town content like the blacksmith in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 anyway, I was able to unlock this feature fairly early on in my gameplay. The customization doesn’t break the bank, either – it’s reasonably priced, so I won’t have to spend too much time grinding to enjoy the new feature.
The update also brought two fresh hair colors and a variety of jaw shapes to the character creator, making the magic mirror even more convenient for those of us in the middle of a playthrough who are always looking to refresh our characters!
Apart from the character personalization feature, the latest update for “Heroes of Hammerwatch 2” includes various enhancements to user experience and problem resolutions. Significantly, the damage output of Whirlwind and Flamespray attacks has been made more reliable. Given that the Paladin is an exceptionally effective starting class in “Heroes of Hammerwatch 2,” the enhancement to the Whirlwind will be a delightful modification for those who favor a two-handed ax Paladin setup. Furthermore, certain dungeon elements will now appear on the mini-map following their use, making exploration of the game world more accessible.
The latest update introduces some user-friendly multiplayer features, such as the ability to customize other players’ markers by changing their color or turning them off completely. With a series of updates being rolled out recently, it’s reasonable to expect more patches in the near future for this game. Given the rapid succession of enhancements, enthusiasts who enjoy roguelike and roguelite games with dynamic gameplay might want to pay close attention to Heroes of Hammerwatch 2.
