At Gamescom 2025, it was officially announced that the final faction for Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era would be Schism. Now, the developers Unfrozen and publisher Hooded Horse have decided to unveil the new faction in its entirety, giving us a comprehensive look at Schism during its debut.
A group named Schism broke away from the primary continental power, Alvar – Jadame’s dominant force – in search of an alternate approach to counter the Hive threat. As reported by Unfrozen and Hooded Horse, these dissenters established their settlement amidst snowy mountains and frozen valleys, isolating themselves from civilization. Their new society is characterized by literacy, a structured social order, and an unrelenting quest to unearth the ancient rituals of their Vori forebears.
Factions under schism can harness “potent yet risky magical forces,” enabling their players to summon their own entities and impede opponents from activating their special abilities.

Apart from Schism, the launch of Heroes of the Might & Magic: Olden Era will include five additional factions. These groups are as follows:
1. Inferno
2. Necropolis
3. Haven
4. Stronghold
5. Sylvan

In 2025, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era will be launched on Steam as an Early Access title. Initially scheduled for a Q2 2025 release, the game has been postponed to a later date within the year so that the developers can craft something truly extraordinary.
