‘He’s Been Talking About It’: Scump on FormaL Potentially Coming Back to COD

As an avid esports enthusiast with years of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a thrill at the prospect of FormaL potentially returning to Call of Duty. His legacy is unmatched, and his prowess on the controller is something to behold.

In a recent online broadcast, Seth ‘Scump’ Abner spoke about speculations regarding Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper possibly coming back to Call of Duty esports. Previously crowned as the World Champion in Call of Duty, he decided to retire from the game in 2021 and shifted his focus towards Halo. After a revamp of the competitive environment for Halo, he went on to win a world championship.

Currently, it’s uncertain what lies ahead for FormaL, as he is participating in the Halo World Championship in Seattle. However, according to Scump’s recent remarks, there’s a possibility that he could be making a comeback to Call of Duty.

The King is Back

In July, FormaL expressed his plan to compete professionally in Black Ops 6, aligning well with Scump’s recent statement during a live stream.

It seems like FormaL may be considering playing Call of Duty, but it’s all speculation at this point. He’s been dropping hints here and there, so it could happen, but nobody can say for certain. If he decides to play his last Halo event and then wins a Call of Duty tournament, that would certainly make headlines!

If FormaL triumphs at the World Championship tournament held in Seattle, he’ll solidify himself as one of the most outstanding controller-based esports players in history. Currently, he is among only two gamers globally who have a world championship title under their belt in two different games – Halo and Call of Duty.

It’s possible that because the Halo esports environment isn’t thriving as it should, FormaL might be considering moving to more favorable conditions. Despite some positive adjustments made by Call of Duty League operators over the past year that have been well-received by the competitive community, there is much optimism for an exciting new season ahead.

Without a doubt, it’s risky to think that FormaL could effortlessly rejoin the League and secure a position. Given his absence from competition for over three years, it seems more likely that he would fit better in Challengers. Until he demonstrates he still possesses the skills necessary to excel, this appears to be the best option for him.
