In my gaming adventure within Shadow Labyrinth, I soon found myself hitting a roadblock when I discovered I needed to get my hands on some High-Grade Material. This top-tier crafting ingredient is super handy, but it’s also incredibly elusive. To make matters worse, for most of my journey through the early to mid stages of Shadow Labyrinth, I had no clue where to even start looking for it. In this guide, I’ll walk you through locating High-Grade Material in Shadow Labyrinth, and I’ll give you the first two spots to kickstart your quest to upgrade both your main weapon and max stamina.

How to Get High-Grade Material in Shadow Labyrinth

Progress Into the Forbidden Lands:

In the game ‘Shadow Labyrinth’, you can enhance your sword and stamina (ESP) at Miku Sol save points, similar to the bonfire mechanism in soulslike games. When you reach these Miku Sol locations, you’ll discover the upgrade options under the ‘Enhance’ menu. To begin with, you’ll have access to only sword and ESP upgrades, which will need Ora for the initial three levels.

After achieving level 4 upgrades in both categories, you’ll discover that High-Grade Materials are necessary for further progress. Notably, High-Grade Material is used for every fourth upgrade within Shadow Labyrinth. Unlike regular crafting materials, these High-Grade Materials aren’t obtained from defeated enemies. Instead, they appear as red crystal collectibles, similar to the HP Capacitor (Max Health upgrade) and the HP Tank charges. Unfortunately, this means that when you encounter a red crystal on the map, you won’t know its purpose until you pick it up. This could necessitate extensive exploration if you’re unsure of their locations. Fortunately, we can provide some guidance to help you get started.

Initially, you won’t encounter premium resources until you journey into the Forbidden Territories. If there are any beforehand, they will be concealed behind challenges that you won’t be able to surmount until you acquire specific abilities after the Forbidden Territories. You’ll gain access to the Forbidden Territories by progressing through the initial regions and discovering the principal settlement, Bosconian Village, nestled in the Land of Refugees.

High-Grade Material Location 1:

The initial top-tier resource we discovered was nestled within the realm known as “The Gateway to Oblivion.” You’ll traverse this region approximately midway through your journey from Bosconian Village, in the Land of Exiles, and entering the Forbidden Territories. After navigating westward across a lengthy, narrow stretch on the map, you’ll reach the Gateway to Oblivion area, which will expand into a long, rectangular section.

At this stage, you’ll gain access to the ACTIV Shot (Grapple) and Midair Dodge skills. Both of these abilities are essential for obtaining the initial High-Grade Material.

In the eastern part of this sector lies our premier resource. Once Puck points out Sheyenne GAIA, you’re almost at our target location. After passing through the initial screen, you’ll enter a second area where you’ll spot a red crystal artifact. To get it, move west along the lower path until you hit the checkpoint shown in the video above. From there, retrace your steps east on the upper path, then descend to the lower areas to gather the material. Be wary, as this part is teeming with hostile enemies.

1. Our top-notch resource is hidden in the eastern part of this zone. Once Puck flags Sheyenne GAIA for you, you’re almost there! After passing through the first screen, you’ll enter a second area where you’ll come across a shiny red crystal artifact. From there, head back east on the upper path and then drop down to the lower sections to collect the material. Just remember, this section is full of dangerous adversaries, so watch your back!

High-Grade Material Location 2:

As I delve deeper into Shadow Labyrinth, I discovered that the top-tier loot lies within the Crystalline Palace. This expansive locale can be found straight west of the Door to the Abyss, and it’s part of the regular path in the Forbidden Lands. Given its size, it might take a tad longer to get back if you’re revisiting this region.

To get there, head towards the northern border of the area, continuing until you come across the third chamber from the northwest corner. Inside this chamber, you’ll discover a multi-tiered space with a waterfall running down its center. Your goal is to ascend to the highest level of this area and navigate through the falling water to find the rec crystal collectible, symbolizing High-Grade Material.
