Hitman Lets You Assassinate One of Mads Mikkelsen’s Most Iconic Characters

Summary

  • Hitman: World of Assassination features Le Chiffre as the latest target, voiced by Mads Mikkelsen.
  • Players can hunt Le Chiffre for free until July 6, 2025, or purchase the DLC for permanent access.
  • The addition of Le Chiffre kicks off a new season with challenges, contracts, and returning targets.

Players of the “Hitman: World of Assassination” game will have an opportunity to eliminate the renowned villain from the “James Bond” series, Le Chiffre. Prior to his appearance in “Hitman: World of Assassination”, Le Chiffre was portrayed by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen in the 2006 film “Casino Royale”, where he joined Daniel Craig on screen for his debut as James Bond.

IO Interactive, the developer behind the Hitman series, has been experiencing great success, largely due to their relaunch of the well-known assassination sandbox series as the expansive Hitman: World of Assassination. By grouping together the games from the already substantial reboot trilogy under one label, IO adopted a live service approach to continually provide fresh content and targets, keeping players captivated. This strategy has proven effective, as the Hitman series has just surpassed 75 million players. Even long after the initial games were launched, the series remains in the spotlight due to new features like time-limited events and appearances by famous figures.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m pumped up about the newest addition to my Hitman: World of Assassination hitlist – it’s Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre from Casino Royale! Known previously as “The Banker,” Le Chiffre is hosting a high-stakes poker game at the Casino Monarchique in Paris, just like he did in Casino Royale. This Elusive Target mission is designed with clear references to his role in the movie, where James Bond attended his poker game at the Montenegro casino. In this Hitman stage, Mads Mikkelsen even provides voicework for Le Chiffre, calling me “Reaper.” Like other Elusive Targets, Le Chiffre will be available for a limited time, with players having until July 6, 2025, to take him down.

Hitman: World of Assassination Adds Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre in New Elusive Target Hunt

During the event, the Elusive Target mission can be played at no cost. For those who wish to spend a bit extra, there’s The Banker Pack DLC available for approximately $5 USD. This purchase grants permanent access to the contract and additional content. The DLC comes with a new outfit for Agent 47, two exclusive Hitman weapons, and several cosmetic items for your in-game Freelancer Safehouse.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the inclusion of a legendary Bond villain in my game roster marks a unique collaboration with the James Bond franchise by IO Interactive. This project was unveiled as ‘007 First Light’ during the recent Sony State of Play broadcast. Excitingly, Le Chiffre’s introduction signifies the commencement of a new season for Hitman: World of Assassination, titled the Season of the High-Stakes. Over its course, we can expect three fresh challenges, four Featured Contracts, and eight returning Elusive Targets.

Including Le Chiffre and the public reveal of IO Interactive’s latest James Bond-inspired project in Hitman, there’s a chance for further connections with 007 First Light. If this collaboration is well-received, additional Bond crossovers might also appear within the World of Assassination.
