In our perspective, this is our debut season in the PWHL. Initially established as a response to enhance the status of female hockey players, particularly following the demise of the CWHL (Canadian Women’s Hockey League) in 2019, the PWHL was born out of a growing conviction that women’s hockey required additional measures for long-term sustainability. This belief sparked its creation, aiming to offer increased stability, operational assistance, and united strength within the sport. The swift emergence of the PWHL into NHL 25 indicates a promising start for this new association.

How The PWHL X NHL Collaboration Came To Be

I hope one day it becomes standard practice, and everyone understands that boys aren’t the only ones playing hockey – girls can aspire to join too. It’s fantastic to witness this diversity.

In October, the latest addition to the NHL series was launched, followed by an update in December.
