The narrative is usually conveyed through in-game occurrences, brief dialogue exchanges, and occasional trailers accompanying a seasonal update. Continuous narratives can effectively maintain players interested in the game’s backstory and environment, but they may also deter some from immersing themselves in the story due to the lack of a definite conclusion in sight.

One notable aspect of the story in Hogwarts Legacy was that players had the flexibility to progress at their own pace, moving freely between main missions, side quests, and open-world exploration whenever they chose. However, a live-service sequel to Hogwarts Legacy might not offer the same degree of player freedom. If executed effectively, a live-service model for “Hogwarts Legacy 2” could make its world feel vibrant and dynamic, with frequent updates introducing new characters, storylines, and activities, as well as seasonal changes.
