We don’t have many details about a potential sequel to Hogwarts Legacy yet, other than the fact that it’s being made. Given how popular the first game was, a sequel makes a lot of sense. The developers also have the opportunity to add new features, like online multiplayer, that weren’t in the original.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could be an ‘Online Multiplayer RPG’
A recent job posting suggests that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy might include online multiplayer. Gamerant noticed that Avalanche Studios, the developer of the popular game, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team working on a new “online multiplayer RPG.” The posting specifically mentions the team behind the original Hogwarts Legacy, hinting that this new RPG could be a continuation of that world.
Okay, looking at the job description, it says the Senior Software Engineer will build and keep running the stuff that makes the game work on the server side – things like saving player progress, setting up matches, managing lobbies, and all the server infrastructure. I’m a little unclear on the multiplayer part though. Is the whole game online, or just certain modes like Quidditch? That’s something I’d definitely want to know.
