In simple terms, it means that players can now customize Hogwarts Legacy, one of the top-selling video games from the past couple of years, as Warner Bros. Games has officially allowed modding. These customizations or changes will be shared and managed by CurseForge.
From January 30th, players who own the game via Steam or the Epic Games Store will be able to download an update, which enables mod access directly from the main menu. To utilize these mods, you’ll need a Steam or Epic Games Store account that’s connected to a Warner Bros. Games account.

Community Manager Chandler Wood expressed his enthusiasm, mentioning that it could range from minor adjustments such as hairstyles or character appearances to substantial updates like new dungeons and quests. He’s looking forward to seeing more of what’s in store.
Wood mentioned that prior to the feature’s release, the team had collaborated with mod creators to ensure a variety of “exciting elements” would be available for immediate use.
Individuals desiring to develop their own custom mods can do so using the complimentary Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit, accessible via the Epic Games Store.
Launched in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy became the top-selling game of that year and has surpassed sales of 30 million units across all platforms it’s available on. At this moment, Avalanche Software is working on an enhanced version called the Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition. Moreover, production for a sequel, Hogwarts Legacy 2, is already underway.
