What’s really exciting is that they’re also looking for people with experience in creature design specifically for the Harry Potter universe. These listings asked for people with experience creating games that are constantly updated and offer ongoing rewards, and specifically mentioned working with a well-known fantasy series based on books and films. While Hogwarts Legacy and Harry Potter weren’t explicitly named, the postings included details that clearly pointed to the franchise, leading many to believe a multiplayer sequel was in development, especially given the first game’s success. These job descriptions are very similar to those for the original Hogwarts Legacy, and some recent postings have sparked speculation that a sequel, Hogwarts Legacy 2, might be free-to-play.

The only other major franchise Warner Bros. owns that’s similar – a fantasy story with both books and movies – is The Lord of the Rings. However, it makes sense that they’d focus on continuing the story of Hogwarts Legacy before starting a new game based on The Lord of the Rings.
