As a dedicated Hollow Knight player, I can’t help but remember the thrill of stepping foot into the Resting Grounds for the first time. There, after a meaningful interaction with a mysterious statue, I was whisked away to an entirely new realm – the Dream World!
Upon my return to reality, I encountered a peculiar new character named the Seer who graciously gifted me the Dream Nail. Though awakening the Dream Nail isn’t mandatory, it’s crucial for those like myself who aim to uncover all the game’s hidden endings in Hollow Knight. A truly captivating journey awaits!
Players need to gather Essence, which can be obtained through different methods; one of these methods involves fighting Warrior Dreams. These Warriors are spectral remnants of powerful insects that players can engage in combat, earning Essence upon defeating each opponent. Players can purchase a marker pin from Iselda in Dirtmouth to highlight the locations of each Warrior Grave on their map, or they can explore and discover where to find each Warrior Dream on their own.
Xero
The King’s Traitor
- Location: Resting Grounds
- Essence Reward: 100x
Players might first come across Xero, as he resides within the Resting Grounds, situated to the west of the Seer’s chamber. Xero becomes visible for players right after they acquire the Dream Nail.
In simpler terms, Xero’s unique offensive strategy involves launching nails from his location, causing harm as they shoot out and retract. As Xero takes damage (i.e., his health decreases), he summons additional nails, amassing a total of three that he uses to attack the Knight.
During this battle, healing can become challenging since Xero keeps moving and increases the speed at which he shoots his Nails. A helpful approach could be utilizing Charms for healing, or employing ones like Quick Focus or Baldur Shell that heal quickly and also offer protection. Defeating Xero awards 100 times the Essence.
Xero Location In Hollow Knight

To reach the final resting place of the Xero warrior in Hollow Knight, players can travel to the Resting Grounds area. They can do this by taking the upper Tramway or by descending into the zone through the Crystal Peak entrance. If you opt for the latter, landing at Crystal Peak will position you directly beside the Xero warrior’s grave location.
No Eyes
The Sleepless

- Location: Greenpath
- Essence Reward: 200x
As a passionate film buff embarking on an epic adventure in Greenpath, I stumbled upon a captivating battle nestled within the Stone Sanctuary, a hidden gem situated to the southeast, just below the Hunter’s position. In order to engage in this thrilling encounter, you’ll need to have secured not only the Dream Nail but also the Lumafly Lantern, a prize bestowed upon me by Sly.
The enigmatic figure known as No Eyes possesses the ability to teleport and doesn’t go for a direct attack on the Knight. Instead, this adversary summons ethereal spirits that dart around the battlefield, dealing damage when they make contact.
Since No Eyes can teleport throughout the arena, locating opportunities to attack her might prove challenging for players. Additionally, be mindful of the bottom spikes in the confined space while dodging airborne spirits and navigating between platforms.
As a movie buff taking on the role of a character in an action-packed scene, I’ve found that the deliberate pace of this battle offers me a strategic advantage – it allows me to evade my adversary more effectively and take valuable moments to recover. Upon triumphing over No Eyes, I am rewarded with 200 Essence, which bolsters my strength for future encounters.
No Eyes Location In Hollow Knight

To find the resting place of No Eyes’ warrior grave in Hollow Knight, players need to navigate their way to the Stone Sanctuary, nestled within Greenpath. To access this area, start from the Forgotten Crossroads entrance in Greenpath, and move downwards until you reach a room that is just above Fog Canyon. Utilize the Monarch Wings and Mantis Claw abilities to gain entry into the Stone Sanctuary, where No Eyes awaits battle.
Elder Hu
The Traveling Sage

- Location: Fungal Wastes
- Essence Reward: 100x
Elder Hu resides in the Fungal Wastes, specifically in a room located above the bridge linking to the City of Tears. This enigmatic figure possesses the ability to teleport within the combat zone, using this skill to evade incoming assaults or strategically position for his own attacks. Moreover, he has two other moves that can be anticipated, adding an element of predictability to encounters with him.
One form of attack involves hovering circles descending onto the ground, leaving safe spaces for players to navigate and evade harm. The other consists of a chain of circles falling from the outskirts towards the center.
During these assaults, players have the chance to strike at Elder Hu since he stays put, making him vulnerable to both nail and spell attacks. Overpowering Elder Hu will earn players 100 Essence as a reward.
Elder Hu Location In Hollow Knight

To reach the burial site of Elder Hu in the game ‘Hollow Knight’, players need to venture into the Fungal Wastes. Once there, they should look for a cave situated at the upper right corner of the zone. On the map, Elder Hu is positioned between the elevator located at the highest point in the City of Tears and the entrance to this city (which seals behind you upon entry).
Galien
The Undefeated Warrior

- Location: Deepnest
- Essence Reward: 200x
Galien’s tomb is situated to the west in the central area of Deepnest, just south of the abandoned Tramway. This grave belongs to Galien who employs swift rotating scythes as his means of attack. Interestingly, he utilizes both of his attacks simultaneously.
In simpler terms, the primary scythe moves swiftly across the arena, following the player’s movements as they evade. As Galien’s health lessens, he calls forth two smaller scythes that operate independently from each other.
Just like Elder Hu, Galien is vulnerable in the air, making him susceptible to high-damage spells such as Howling Wraiths/Abyss Shriek. By utilizing the Shade Cloak’s dash ability to bypass Galien’s attacks, players can minimize damage and dodge more effectively. Successfully defeating Galien earns players 200 Essence.
Galien Location In Hollow Knight

To reach the burial site of the Galien warrior in Hollow Knight, players should navigate through Deepnest first. This journey demands defeating both the Mantis Lords and obtaining the Lumafly Lantern to illuminate the dark recesses. The entrance to Galien’s warrior grave location is nestled between a tall chamber, found halfway along the Failed Tramway and the lowest level of Deepnest.
Gorb
The Great Mind

- Location: Howling Cliffs
- Essence Reward: 100x
Gorb’s final resting place lies in the northeastern part of the Howling Cliffs, not far from Mato’s dwelling. As the fight progresses, Gorb has the ability to teleport and employs an attack that can be tricky to avoid due to its increasing difficulty.
Surrounding them are a ring of spears that, once triggered, shoot through the landscape, denying players any opportunity to hide or seek shelter. In response to being hit by attacks, Gorb unleashes up to three successive waves of these projectiles.
In the upcoming fight, it’s advisable for combatants to maintain a safe distance from Gorb, giving themselves room to evade effectively. Spells like Vengeful Spirit and Shade Soul offer long-range attacking alternatives. Plus, vanquishing Gorb rewards 100 Essence.
Gorb Location In Hollow Knight

To locate the final resting place of Gorb the warrior in Hollow Knight, players first need to navigate their way to the ominous Howling Cliffs. To reach this area, players must acquire the Mantis Claw and Monarch Wings, then retrace steps back to the game’s starting point (to the left of Dirtmouth). Once there, search for a concealed path hidden to the left of your spawn point and scale it upwards until you reach the summit of the Howling Cliffs. Following this route will lead you to the left side where Gorb’s warrior grave sits majestically atop a hovering platform.
Markoth
The Forgotten Tribesman

- Location: Kingdom’s Edge
- Essence Reward: 250x
Nestled to the east of Kingdom’s Edge, adventurers must possess the Shade Cloak to bypass the Shade Gate and gain entry to Markoth’s combat arena. In addition to its teleportation abilities, Markoth will employ three distinct attack strategies during our encounter.
During battle, Markoth can conjure up to two protective barriers that revolve around him. If these barriers touch the player, they cause harm. Additionally, these barriers block incoming attacks. One of the shields has the ability to rapidly spin around Markoth in a growing circle before returning to its original position.
In simple terms, the last assault resembles a Homing Nail that initially targets the Knight, then disperses. As Markoth suffers damage, he responds by launching Nails more rapidly. Overcoming him grants the players 250 units of Essence.
Markoth Location In Hollow Knight

To reach the resting place of the Markoth warrior in Hollow Knight, players should make their way to Kingdom’s Edge. This can be achieved either by venturing through the hidden tunnel beneath King’s Station or by utilizing the lower Tram, which leads to the entrance close to The Hive. Upon arriving at the open-air chasm (located above The Hive), proceed to the right for a few rooms and ascend using Monarch Wings. In the following room, activate your Shade Cloak to pass through the spectral fountain and engage in battle with Markoth.
Marmu
Protector of the Queen’s Gardens

- Location: Queen’s Gardens
- Essence Reward: 150x
In the Queen’s Gardens, you’ll discover Marmu, hidden behind a wall to the left of the Stag Station room. Similar to other Warrior Dreams, Marmu possesses teleportation abilities. However, her attacks are limited to rolling into a ball and bounding around the arena. Once you defeat Marmu, players will receive 150 Essence as a reward.
When players strike Marmu with Nail attacks while she’s bouncing, she’ll be pushed a little distance backward. This allows for the opportunity to keep Marmu airborne, or juggle her.
This tactic works best when employing abilities like Quick Slash, Longnail, or Mark of Pride to boost speed and reach, as Marmu’s attacks lack precision, making them somewhat erratic. This unpredictability creates potential risks when it comes to taking advantage of healing opportunities.
Marmu Location In Hollow Knight

To reach the burial site of the Marmu warrior in the game ‘Hollow Knight’, players first need to unlock Queen’s Gardens. This can be achieved by obtaining the Shade Cloak and navigating through the fountain in Fog Canyon that initially prevents access. Progressing almost entirely through the zone is required to get to this Warrior Grave. Upon discovering the Stag Station, players should sit on the bench to set up a respawn point, then venture left to engage in combat with Marmu.
