This aggression, as described by Kyousuke, appears to be a pattern of “turbulent domestic violence,” and it seems to be a norm within their family.

Although Kyouko portrays her father as being self-centered and combative, fans rarely observe such behavior. When Miyamura is present, Kyousuke welcomes him warmly and enjoys engaging in conversation with him, viewing him as an intriguing person. Furthermore, upon seeing Miyamura, Kyousuke’s attitude rapidly shifts from negative to extremely positive.

14 Koichi Shindo

From the get-go, Koichi has consistently been a cheerful individual who follows his own path. In their Junior High School days, most people steered clear of Miyamura because of his demeanor and preconceived notions; yet, even back then, Koichi found him intriguing, and they forged a strong friendship. Regardless of when it is or was, Koichi has always supported Miyamura unwaveringly, disregarding how he dressed.

Despite not excelling academically, Koichi refuses to let this label him. Instead, he continues to pursue his own path without succumbing to feelings of inadequacy. With the support of his girlfriend, Chika Ichijou, Koichi endeavors to break free from harmful habits like smoking and strives harder so that Chika’s parents acknowledge his efforts.

13 Makio Tanihara

A Mischievous Bully Who Seeks Redemption

From my perspective as a devoted fan, standing at just over 5’6, Tanihara Makio has a storied past of tormenting Izumi Miyamura. Dating back to our Junior High days, Tanihara, without any legitimate reason, harbored an aversion towards Izumi Miyamura. Interestingly enough, being someone who always strives to blend in, Tanihara attempted to ‘look out for’ Koichi Shindo when he started associating with Miyamura, fearing that Koichi might draw unwanted attention. Regrettably, his plan backfired, as Koichi found himself drawn to Miyamura’s intrigue.

By the time he reached high school, Makio recognized that no one is beyond redemption, and so he decided to ask Miyamura for forgiveness for the bullying he had inflicted during their junior high years. Despite his rough and domineering nature, Makio’s efforts to atone for his past actions of bullying revealed an unexpected dimension that left fans captivated.

12 Yuriko Hori

A Caring Mother

Kyouko Hori’s mom, Yuriko, is a youthful and busy working woman, which frequently leaves Hori responsible for her brother, Souto. Back when Yuriko was in high school, Kyosuke, her husband, pointed out that she bore a striking resemblance to their daughter Kyouko. In simpler terms, Yuriko works a lot and takes care of the household, often leaving Hori in charge of her brother. When Yuriko was a teenager, her husband commented on how much she looked like Kyouko.

From my perspective as a doting mom of two, I strive to maintain a tranquil and caring demeanor. While I might not be the most enthusiastic cook in our household, leaving the culinary duties largely to Hori, I take immense pride in shielding my dear daughter and nurturing our warm bond with her.

11 Souta Hori

An Inquisitive Younger Brother To Kyouko

In the anime series “Horimiya,” it’s Souta, Horima’s younger brother, who sets the stage for Miyamura to discover Horima’s hidden side. At the onset of the story, Miyamura encounters Souta scared by a dog, leading him to escort the young boy home. In their brief encounter, they establish a connection, and since then, Souta has admired Miyamura, regarding him as an older brother figure.

Even though he’s older, Souta shows a great deal of obedience and keen insight. He often picks up on the feelings between Miyamura and Hori before they fully realize those emotions themselves.

Remi frequently discusses her boyfriend with her good friend Hori, a key figure in the story. Unlike many girls, Remi has a passion for insects and possesses an honest demeanor.

Kakeru Sengoki, who is both the head of Katagiri Senior High School’s student council and Remi Ayasaki’s boyfriend, has been a longtime friend of Hori. As kids, they spent much time together, but Kakeru, being somewhat timid, would frequently distance himself from Hori, who was quite bossy with him.

Regarding high school selection, Kakeru initially planned to attend a school other than Hori’s, but it seems that won’t happen. Frequently, she feels envious of Miyamura because he frequently socializes with Hori, creating a sense of distance between them. Over time, however, Honoka grows more at ease with Miyamura and begins to view him as a protective older brother-like figure.

6 Shuu Iura

Miyamura’s pal, Syu, is also a student at Katagiri Senior High School. He’s quite boisterous and sociable, which makes Honoka apprehensive around him. Loudness is a significant trait of Syu’s, as he often poses questions to his friends like, “What would be left if I didn’t have my energy?”

A key trait of Sakura lies in her doubts about herself. She grapples with her sense of self-value and often questions her abilities. Yet, throughout the storyline, Sakura manages to conquer her self-doubts and forges new friendships.

4 Tooru Ishikawa

Enthusiastic and Dedicated Friend

• First Appearance: Episode 1

In the early episodes of the “Horimiya” anime, it’s clear that Tooru Ishikawa has strong feelings for Kyouko Hori. Because Hori frequently hangs out with Miyamura, Tooru sometimes feels a pang of jealousy towards Miyamura, resulting in an argument between them.

Following our intense encounter, I must admit I let my emotions get the best of me. Yet, since then, Horikoshi and Miyamura have grown even closer as friends. Interestingly enough, as their bond deepened, so did the relationship between Tooru and Yuki – leading us to harbor feelings for each other beyond friendship. However, we haven’t taken the official step into a romantic relationship yet.

3 Yuki Yoshikawa

Supportive Friend With Self-Doubt

As the closest companion of Kyouko Hori, Yuki Yoshikawa is a vibrant individual who brings joy to those in her company. In the opening episodes of the Horimiya anime series, Yuki harbored affection for Miyamura, whom she thought was Konoha – Hori’s cousin. However, upon discovering that Konoha was indeed Miyamura and the two had feelings for each other, Yuki reluctantly let go of him.

Over time, Yuki finds herself growing affectionate towards Tooru, particularly as their friendship deepens due to Hori, her closest friend, spending more time with Miyamura instead.
