Horizon Zero Dawn Has Been Removed From Epic Games Store Ahead of Remaster

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition disappears from the Epic Games Store. It was one of those games that took me on an unforgettable journey, and I’m sure many others feel the same way.

If you visit the Epic Games Store page for Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition, it may not be available for purchase in some specific areas. On the contrary, in other locations, users are directed towards the store page for Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered Edition instead. (Credit: me)

It’s been unexplained why Epic Games Store withdrew Horizon Zero Dawn, but it seems likely that this decision encourages players to buy the Remastered Edition rather than purchasing the Complete Edition and later upgrading for $9.99. Notably, both the Complete Edition and Remastered Edition are priced identically, at $49.99.

To gear up for the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered Edition, the PlayStation Store has followed an analogous approach – instead of removing the game from sale, they’ve boosted its cost. For approximately six and a half years, the game was listed at $19.99 or £15.99, but following the unveiling of the Remastered Edition, the price of the original version jumped to $39.99/£34.99.
