As a die-hard PlayStation fan who’s been through countless console generations and game releases, I can confidently say that the upcoming release of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is like a sweet, nostalgic reunion with an old friend. The original game was a gem, and having it polished up for modern hardware feels like finding that perfect pair of jeans you thought you’d lost forever in the back of your closet.
As a gaming enthusiast, I must admit that I wasn’t exactly clamoring for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Yet, when I learned that owners of the original game could upgrade to this remastered edition at an affordable $10 price point, it quickly shot up my pre-order list on the PlayStation Store, making it one of the hottest pre-orders since its announcement in late September.
Of course, many who bought the game are quite excited to find out when they can dive in. Excitingly, they won’t need to wait much longer since the release date for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is just around the corner!
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Release Time
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to launch globally at midnight on Halloween (October 31), depending on your region. Since it’s a first-party PS5 exclusive, the game’s availability will be determined by the timezone of your PlayStation Store account. This means players in Australia, New Zealand, and East Asia will get early access to the game. Additionally, keep in mind that the US PlayStation Store operates on Eastern Time, so those using PDT can start playing at 9 PM on October 30.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Preload and File Size
Currently, at the time I am being written, the preload for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is active. This means players can start playing immediately when the game officially launches on October 31 at midnight. However, keep in mind that you’ll need a substantial amount of storage space to accommodate it, as the PS5 version takes up about 93.227 GB, which is nearly twice the size of its PS4 counterpart (46.88 GB). The enhanced visuals and performance of the remastered Horizon Zero Dawn might explain this considerable size difference.
