Horses Is The New Viral Horror Game Banned On Steam & Epic Games Store

Despite being removed from Steam and the Epic Games Store at the last minute because of its disturbing content, the popular horror game Horses is still available for purchase.

Horses starts with a seemingly peaceful setup: you’re spending two weeks helping out on a farm. You’ll do typical chores like feeding the dog and caring for the horses. But it soon becomes clear these aren’t ordinary animals, and the game quickly takes a dark turn, exploring disturbing and unsettling themes.

Steam and Epic didn’t like this much.

You Can Still Buy Horses Elsewhere

Just hours before it was released, the game Horses was removed from both Steam and the Epic Games Store. This unexpected ban has actually drawn even more attention to the game, with many people now curious about the reason behind it.

Take a look at this content warning on the Horses website to get an idea of what to expect:

This game features intense and disturbing content, including violence, abuse (both physical and emotional), graphic depictions of injury and suffering, slavery, torture, domestic abuse, sexual assault, suicide, and harmful portrayals of women.

TopMob has reviewed a lot of gameplay footage and other content from the game, and it’s as unsettling as you’d expect. While the Epic Games Store still lists ‘Horses’ as “Coming Soon,” you can actually purchase and play it now on GOG.

The restrictions on the game could be lifted later on, particularly if Santa Ragione Game Studio appeals the decision and the game becomes very popular. TopMob will keep a close watch on the game’s situation.
