As a seasoned Pokemon TCG Pocket player with years of card collecting under my belt, I can’t help but appreciate the unique feature that binders bring to the game. Binders are like our digital trading card albums, allowing us to showcase our rarest and most prized cards in creative and visually appealing ways.
In the game called Pokemon TCG Pocket, you have an opportunity to showcase your preferred or scarcely found cards to instill a touch of jealousy. A useful tool that assists with this is the “Binder,” which essentially functions as an album for your cards without any restrictions on how to arrange them. Consider binders as a platform to express creativity by designing distinctive, attention-grabbing, or even comical decks to display among friends and other players, or just appreciate for yourself. Here’s a guide on how to effectively utilize the binder feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
What Are Binders in Pokemon TCG Pocket?
Binders serve as custom collections of Pokemon TCG Pocket cards, crafted by players. Each player may possess a maximum of 15 binders, with each binder capable of displaying up to 30 unique cards. The aim is to fashion imaginative groups, decorate them with various items, and share them with others, or simply display them on your personal screen—for aesthetic reasons only.
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s binders are made up of six components:
- Covers: You can pick a cosmetic design as your binder’s cover art.
- Titles: You can pick a short name for your binder.
- Cards: You can add 1 to 30 cards (of any type) to your binder.
- Tags: You can pick descriptive tags like #LegendaryMythical or #FavoritePokemon so other players can find your binders.
- Visibility: You can determine who can see your binders. The options are private (no one can see them), Friends (only your allies can see them), and Public (anyone can see them).
- Likes: Other players can leave a like on your non-private binders, and you will be able to see their likes.
Please avoid confusing display boards with binders when organizing your Pokemon TCG Pocket. Display boards are designed to hold just one card and offer extra decorative elements such as backgrounds, whereas binders function as albums where you can compile cards according to a specific theme or aesthetic preference.
To open your binders in the main menu of the game, first, mark one of them as your preferred choice by tapping on the star symbol next to it. Later, simply slide your screen to the right to explore and view its contents.
How Can You Make a Binder?
- Go to ‘My Cards.’
- From the top navigation bar, select ‘Binders.’
- Tap ‘Create.’
- Add up to 30 cards from your Pokedex.
- Adjust the binder’s cover, title, tag, and visibility.
- Click save.
At level seven, your binders will be accessible for use. From the “My Cards” menu, you’ll be able to construct a total of fifteen binders. Keep in mind that you can only make binders using cards that you have previously unlocked.
How Can You Share Your Binders with Others?
- From the ‘My Cards’ menu, open the ‘Binders’ tab.
- Tap the ‘Show Friend ID’ button at the bottom-right corner.
- Copy and share your unique ID with a friend.
- They can use this code in the Social Hub to see your binders.
If your binder is visible to all, your friends can find it in the Community Showcase, specifically under the Friends’ Showcase tab. On the other hand, if your binder isn’t public, you have the option to share it with a friend by providing them with your Friend ID, which they can enter into their game to access your collection.
How to See a Friend’s Binder
- Ask for a friend’s showcase ID.
- Go to the Social Hub.
- Select Community Showcase.
- From the bottom-left corner, tap ‘Friend ID Search.’
- Enter the friend’s unique code to browse their binders.
Instead, navigate to the ‘Friends’ section within the Social Hub menu, which is located beneath Community Showcase. Once there, simply click on a friend’s profile, then utilize the ‘View Showcase’ button below their avatar to access their binders.
How Can You Delete a Binder?
- Go to ‘My Cards.’
- Select ‘Binders.’
- From the top-right corner, tap ‘Edit.’
- Tap the red minus icon that appears next to your binders.
- Confirm deletion to remove the binder.
As a gamer, when I clear out my Pokédex binders, it doesn’t wipe out the cards within them. But, be warned, once those binders are gone, so is that particular collection forever. The unfortunate truth is that the only way to regain a deleted binder is by starting anew from scratch.
How Can You Get More Covers for Binders?
In the game shop of Pokemon Pocket, you can buy binder covers using Shop Tickets. But during special events such as the Wonder Pick event in November, you’ll have a chance to gather extra binder covers and decorative items through completing side missions and meeting quick goals instead of purchasing them directly.
