This post contains spoilers for Naruto.
The world of Naruto is filled with memorable characters, but Kakashi Hatake truly stands out. He was first introduced early in the series and immediately captivated audiences with his cool and collected demeanor. As the instructor of Team 7 – consisting of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno – Kakashi guided a team destined for greatness. His strong leadership abilities were essential to their success.
Team 7 wasn’t always the powerful group fans know. Naruto and his teammates worked incredibly hard to become strong enough to protect their village and the world. By the time the Fourth Great Ninja War began, they had all learned many powerful techniques, letting them face some of the most dangerous villains in the series Naruto. Although Kakashi initially felt like the least powerful member, he later gained a significant power boost that dramatically increased his strength.
Kakashi Got Six Paths Chakra From Obito
Once Black Zetsu betrayed Madara Uchiha, the seal holding Kaguya Otsutsuki broke, freeing her to cause chaos. Naruto and Sasuke, having just defeated Madara, thought they could handle her. However, they quickly realized Kaguya was far more powerful than they were.
Kaguya possessed incredibly dangerous powers, including the ability to switch dimensions with Amenominaka and instantly kill opponents with All Killing Ash Bones. Amenominaka allowed her to create deadly traps – she could transform a normal area into a lava-filled landscape, causing enemies to fall to their doom. All Killing Ash Bones was a one-hit-kill technique, and no healing could save anyone struck by it. On top of that, Kaguya was almost immune to most attacks. Team 7 understandably feared her immense power. Fortunately, they received a significant advantage when Kakashi gained Six Paths Chakra from Obito Uchiha.
Kakashi’s Susanoo Was Overpowered
- Kakashi’s Susanoo was armed with Kamui-shuriken
- Kakashi could use both variants of Kamui
Kakashi received not only the Six Paths Chakra but also a Mangekyou Sharingan in each eye. Having both eyes allowed him to summon the Susanoo, a powerful defense fueled by the Six Paths Chakra that could even withstand attacks from Kaguya. What made Kakashi’s Susanoo unique was its use of shuriken shaped like Mangekyou Sharingan.
I Have Many Things That I Want To Protect As A Shinobi. —Kakashi Hatake
After summoning his complete Susanoo, Sasuke created numerous shuriken shaped like his Mangekyou Sharingan. These weren’t ordinary shuriken; when they hit an enemy, they didn’t just cut them—they began pulling the victim into the Kamui dimension. This ability could immediately turn the battle in Sasuke’s favor. For instance, if one of Kakashi’s shuriken had struck Naruto, Naruto would have been trapped in the Kamui dimension indefinitely. Sasuke would have faced the same fate, though his Rinnegan might have allowed him to eventually escape.
Kakashi Had Access To Both Kamui Eyes
Kakashi Could Use Kamui As Much As He Wanted
It’s clear that Kakashi’s Susanoo was the most powerful one shown in Naruto. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kakashi had two particularly strong abilities. For most of the series, he only possessed one Mangekyou Sharingan, limiting his Kamui use to long-distance attacks. He could trap opponents in a barrier and send them to the Kamui dimension, or use it to teleport himself away from danger.
After regaining his second eye during the battle with Kaguya, Kakashi could use a more limited form of Kamui. This allowed him to send pieces of himself to another dimension, effectively making him untouchable. Combining this with his original Kamui ability made Kakashi incredibly difficult to fight against.
Kakashi’s Trump Card Was His Intelligence
He Had Elite Problem-Solving Skills
- Kakashi was a prodigy
- He breezed past all exams at the Academy
Kakashi was incredibly skilled, but his greatest strength was his intelligence. Even as a child, he was remarkably bright, impressing everyone around him. He excelled at the Academy and quickly became a Jonin – a high-ranking ninja – in a very short time. A clear example of his intelligence is how he learned to use the powerful Sharingan, despite not being born with it.
I’ve always noticed Kakashi was incredibly careful. He rarely rushed into things, preferring to thoroughly analyze a situation and create a solid plan before acting. It’s clear he was a brilliant strategist. Thinking about it, if he’d kept the power of the Six Paths and his Mangekyou Sharingan, he would have undoubtedly remained the most powerful ninja in the Naruto world.
