In the latest free update for The Sims 4, a frequently demanded feature was introduced – the ability to apply items to every outfit. This tutorial will walk you through using this new function, allowing players to efficiently personalize their Sims’ wardrobes.
Where is the “Apply to All Outfits” Button?
Players can locate the “Apply to Outfits” button in the following way: Begin by opening Create-a-Sim. You may access this feature by starting a fresh game, editing an existing household within Manage Worlds, updating your Sim’s appearance using a mirror, or activating “testingcheats” and opting for “Modify in CAS.”
The “Apply to Outfits” button is located on the right side of the screen next to the “Everyday Outfits” button. This button will only become visible if a player has chosen a head or body for their Sim. Additionally, players can utilize this feature only when they select an accessory, hairstyle, or clothing item that the Sim currently wears.
If a Sim goes without a top in their outfit due to wearing a full-bodied garment instead, players will miss out on the option to add a shirt by selecting “Apply Shirt to Outfits,” as the game recognizes only clothing pieces that are individually equipped.

With a simple click on the “Apply to Outfits” button, players can instantly add selected items to multiple outfits, or even pick and apply them to particular outfits, categories, or specific items of their choice.
How to Apply Items to All Outfits
- To apply items to all outfits, select the “Apply to All Outfits” button

- To apply items to specific outfits, select the three dots below the “Apply to All Outfits” button and choose the outfit categories
How to Apply an Entire Category to Outfits
- To apply an item category to outfits, select the category and then apply it to all outfits or specific outfits

- To apply a specific item type to outfits, select the item type in its category tab and then apply it to all outfits or specific outfits
