How the Boss Rush Works in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing the digital realm, I must say, my latest encounter with the captivating world of “Wukong’s Reign” has left an indelible mark on my gaming life! The sheer depth and intricacy of the game have me utterly spellbound.

In the latest update (1.0.12.16581) for “Black Myth: Wukong,” a new feature called Challenge has been incorporated across all Keeper Shrines within the game. This addition offers players access to two fresh game modes: Return of Rivals and Gauntlet of Legends. In these challenge modes, players can engage in battles against recurring bosses from various parts of the game, with two distinct types of rematch encounters available for each mode.

In Black Myth: Wukong’s Return of Rivals mode, you have the chance to rematch any bosses you’ve previously defeated within the main game. This allows players to hone their skills and experiment with fresh tactics. The Gauntlet of Legends is where this practice becomes crucial. In the Gauntlet, players engage in a series of consecutive boss battles, with the difficulty ranging from three to six fights in succession. By completing these challenges, you can unlock various new items.

The easiest among the new gameplay options is “Return of Rivals,” where you can select any previously defeated main game boss for a rematch. Note that your choices will be confined to the bosses you’ve actually faced, so if you’ve unintentionally bypassed a boss like Scorpionlord during your gameplay, you won’t have the opportunity to fight them in this mode. In New Game Plus, however, you’ll maintain access to all bosses from previous playthroughs, enabling you to start anew against Erlang Shen, for example, if desired.

In update 1.0.16581, The Gauntlet of Legends stands out as the star attraction, presenting gamers with nine intense combat trials to conquer. Each trial consists of one to six consecutive boss battles, and overcoming them rewards players uniquely. Among these challenges, some appear especially formidable such as “Collective Strength”, where you engage six of the game’s most challenging bosses in a row, and “Brothers of Mei”, where you face a sequence of bosses that culminates in an extremely difficult fight against Erlang Shen.
