Following its third year milestone, the game “Lost Ark” is introducing significant updates according to its 2025 development plan. This pace of innovation is set to continue as we approach the third phase of this roadmap, brimming with new content for “Lost Ark” enthusiasts.
In 2025, Lost Ark continues to evolve as a dynamic title – a game that has been thriving for over ten years in Korea and since 2022 in North America and Europe. Each year brings fresh content to the game, and this year is promising to be one of the biggest yet. As we move into the third phase of Lost Ark’s 2025 roadmap, Game Rant had an opportunity to speak with Matthew Huston, the franchise lead at Amazon Games. He shared some insights about the upcoming quality-of-life improvements and content updates for Lost Ark.
Lost Ark’s 2025 Roadmap Is Moving Into Part 3
Paradise System and Valkyrie
As a gamer eagerly awaiting the upcoming content in Lost Ark, I’m excited to share that July promises some massive updates! The new Paradise progression system is set to bring a fresh wave of excitement to the game. This system will lead us on an adventure through three distinct realms: Elysian, Crucible, and Hell, each offering unique challenges and rewards.
Elysian will be a thrilling wave-based mode, testing our skills against endless hordes of enemies. In Crucible, we’ll face off against an array of formidable bosses in one-on-one battles. As the season progresses, more bosses will join the fray! Lastly, Hell presents a daunting 100-floor dungeon challenge, where our goal is to delve as deep as we can!
In discussing the specifics of the upcoming update for ‘Lost Ark’, Huston outlined several ways that the new feature called Paradise will disrupt the current gameplay and the aims it has in mind. For instance, Huston elaborated on how Paradise, while catering to all kinds of players, is also intended to streamline the endgame grind process.
For those who play the game, it’s common knowledge that the final stages can become repetitive. Regardless if you’re a beginner, returning player, or have lower-level characters, we aimed to provide additional methods for character advancement without solely relying on solo mode or gold raid adjustments. We introduced Paradise, which has a more accessible entrance requirement (gear level 1580). This area offers numerous chances to gain rewards and gold, helping your character grow. You can still engage in solo modes, raids, and events alongside Paradise. This new system simply expands the progression options while revitalizing the end-game loop.
Valkyrie and Quality of Life Changes
In the upcoming months for “Lost Ark”, players who are already invested in the game can look forward to even more exciting developments following July. August will introduce a new advanced class called Valkyrie, which serves as a female counterpart to the current Paladin class. Notably, the Valkyrie is distinct from the Paladin as she offers the flexibility to function either as a support or damage dealer, whereas the Paladin primarily focuses on support roles. If you’re familiar with playing Paladin, you’ll find that the general combat and movement of Valkyrie are similar, but her mobility is particularly enjoyable and worth exploring.
Additionally, as we draw nearer to the planned timeline for Lost Ark in 2025, several enhancements aimed at improving player experience will be introduced. Many of these improvements are expected to roll out around July, while others may follow. Huston provided additional insights and discussed in depth the areas of the game that these changes will affect.
In a recent update, we’ve enhanced the user experience significantly. The main modifications involve streamlining daily tasks: Guardian and Kurzan Front missions are now only available once per day, and Una’s tasks no longer require completion of rapport elements. Additionally, we’ve balanced endgame raids, revamped solo modes, and adjusted the cost of Advanced Honing and Transcendence in endgame progression. To be more specific, the materials needed for Advanced Honing from levels 1 to 20 have been reduced by half, and the silver/gold costs associated with this process have decreased by 20%. Stay tuned as we continue to roll out more Quality-of-Life improvements in July; keep an eye on our update notes for further details.
